South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Kathryn Quinn
I bet on me and my own heartbeat

Names were a beautiful thing. There was one particular name that always stuck on in Kathryn's mind, perhaps because throughout her childhood it was said in whispered tones of her grandparents, and the times it was mentioned was few and far in between, years and years in fact upon it being mentioned, and most often it was closely tied to her mother's name as well.

The name was Charlotte.

Kathryn always wanted to climb out from the wall she was hiding behind and ask who Charlotte was, and if Kathryn knew her or not. But she had never gotten the nerve to. Frankly, as much as she wanted to the answer, receiving it frightened her. Of course, any time the name was mentioned Kathryn would pile up a few theories of it origins. She had guessed everything from an old dog that perhaps her grandparents had at some point, a distant cousin, and the worst one being that maybe when her mother had run off, leaving Kathryn behind with her grandad and grammy, she had had another baby. A daughter named Charlotte. Still, despite these logical answers, none of them had ever felt quite right.

"Those are quite unique," she says gently. "I think my mom just said the first name that popped into her head for a baby girl," Kathryn offers and laughs slightly.

Her body immediately tenses as Emerson mentions that was in for a...er...treat of being able to experience cold weather here in Sacrosanct. "Wow, snow," she says, widening her blue eyes slightly. "I mean I've seen snow before, when my family would go skiing, but I can't say I have ever lived in it before," she says, and a shiver ushers forth from her involuntarily. As if it were a practice shiver for the cold winter months ahead.

Kathryn waits patiently for Emmy's response to her own question of what brought her here. And the answer that this girl with beautiful blonde hair is certainly not an Kat was expecting or at all prepared for. "Oh," she says, surprised. She raises that delicate hand to her mouth. "I'm so sorry," she says and then she extends her hand and softly touches Emmy's shoulder for only a moment, with all the gentleness of a snowflake landing on eyelashes. Kathryn has not a single inkling of what the additional details of the story could be, and Kathryn, being Kathryn, decides she ought not to pry. "Is there any way that I can help?" She asks tilting her head slightly, long locks falling just a minuet amount to the side. "I may not know many people here, but I am pretty tenacious, at least thats what my grandparents had told me," she says, tries to usher forth a puff of laughter, but it fails and sounds more like a sigh. "Girls have to stick together these days," she says and as Kathryn reaches out her hand for Emmy's, the breeze picks up once again. It light, elegant, and it gently tugs at the locks of dark brown and blonde. It feels reassuring, as Kathryn attempts to be to this stranger. She smiles, and she knows a smile is not enough, but she hopes it at least reveals to Emmy the support Kathryn will give to her. Despite having only just met, the young witch doesn't want Emmy to exit her life just yet.
