South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

They say love is pain

She was hoping to tempt the younger boy into joining in with the starfish hugs, but she could sense his apprehension and slight fear as she demonstrated how the starfish would wrap its legs around. Arya could easily imagine he thought perhaps it would bite or hurt him doing that, so she simply allowed it to stay on her hand until little Izzy decided she wanted to try, perhaps then coaxing her brother into it if he saw his sister do it. Amber eyes watched in amusement as the little girl stuck both hands in palms up to gently hold the starfish, though not correct for this situation it was correct for most handling of things. "For starfish, they like when your hand is pretending to be a rock," she explained, using her free hand to gently separate Izzy's and then ball up on of her free hands. Once her hand was correct she gently removed red sea star from her own hand and place it on the young girls. She watched in amusement as the sea star did what was natural and curled its arms around her hand in an attempt to hold on as if she were and oddly shaped rock. Once the young girl was done, the seal would gently remove the sea star and place it back down on its rocky home.

Arya had always supposed the reason she hadn't met more Weres was simply because of her preferred locations in the day. She couldn't name a time she had even taken a leisurely walk through the woods where she was sure most of the cities Were population would spend their time in their animal forms. The seal spent her free time at the beach or quietly at home, and then the rest of her time was spent at the aquarium working. It would be incredibly awkward to try and be a seal in the forest, she could move very clumsily at best on land and there were too many prickly things that would poke her soft squishy tummy while trying to move. So when Nadya explained that her family were big cats, with her being a black jaguar and her children being a mixed breed known as a leguar, it explained why she probably hadn't seen them on the beach often. Those types of big cats tended to be ok with water but she still could sense they much preferred the forest. "That's quite interesting, I don't think i'v ever met a panther. If you don't mind me asking, did Izzy and Micah take on your Melanistic black coat?" she asked, curious if the children of a panther and, what she assumed was, a plain colored leopard would inherit their mothers more recessive gene of black fur. If she knew anything of genetics it would be a coin toss between the two twins, with neither having that coat color, both having it, or only one having it.

She couldn't help but laugh lightly at the barrage of questions thrown her way followed by an apology for her curiosity. Arya was definitely not unused to questions, she knew from a young age that her kind were few and far between and there were even less water based Weres in existence; she could probably count the ones she knew of on a single hand. "There are small groupings of us in the United States spotted along the coast lines, but most of our population is in Scotland and Ireland. There are more water based Weres as well, but most don't live in the US. Our packs are called Colonies, but we've been known to just go by pack if we consist of more than one species of Were," she explained, unconcerned about the questions. "Don't worry, I don't mind. Though that sounds like quite the interesting pack you have there," she said with light laughter, it wasn't every day you heard of a pack made up of predators that had a horse as the alpha.

Well darling, let's hurt tonight
