She was hoping to tempt the younger boy into joining in with the starfish hugs, but she could sense his apprehension and slight fear as she demonstrated how the starfish would wrap its legs around. Arya could easily imagine he thought perhaps it would bite or hurt him doing that, so she simply allowed it to stay on her hand until little Izzy decided she wanted to try, perhaps then coaxing her brother into it if he saw his sister do it. Amber eyes watched in amusement as the little girl stuck both hands in palms up to gently hold the starfish, though not correct for this situation it was correct for most handling of things.
Arya had always supposed the reason she hadn't met more Weres was simply because of her preferred locations in the day. She couldn't name a time she had even taken a leisurely walk through the woods where she was sure most of the cities Were population would spend their time in their animal forms. The seal spent her free time at the beach or quietly at home, and then the rest of her time was spent at the aquarium working. It would be incredibly awkward to try and be a seal in the forest, she could move very clumsily at best on land and there were too many prickly things that would poke her soft squishy tummy while trying to move. So when Nadya explained that her family were big cats, with her being a black jaguar and her children being a mixed breed known as a leguar, it explained why she probably hadn't seen them on the beach often. Those types of big cats tended to be ok with water but she still could sense they much preferred the forest.
She couldn't help but laugh lightly at the barrage of questions thrown her way followed by an apology for her curiosity. Arya was definitely not unused to questions, she knew from a young age that her kind were few and far between and there were even less water based Weres in existence; she could probably count the ones she knew of on a single hand.
