South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Scarlett had been slowly readjusting to the flow of pack life since her return from her extended vacation. Travel had allowed her to find a new lease on life after the death of her grandmother and only remaining relative. Those places she'd seen and people she had met had helped to rekindle the spark lost to grief and give her the strength to move forward from tragedy. Yet she held no denial over those nights the stars reflected in those emerald eyes as she stared up and longed for the company of her pack once more; as a bitten Were, she had never truly understood what a pack meant until moments like those. Now that her heart no longer ached for what she had lost was she ready to return to those who waited patiently with love and open arms for her once she was ready and had found the healing she had sought. The young wolf felt at peace fully once the bond that connected her with her pack mates hummed with renewed strength upon her return. Though there was a new member to get to know, and overcome her prickly nature, Scarlett was completely content.

The young blonde woman was nothing if not stubborn, and it was a quality known to be both a blessing and a sin. In the case of Malia the newest member of the Chimera pack, who joined while Scar was away, time would tell if her stubbornness would pay off. The initial meeting had been rough, but she had been raised to always see the best in others, and so she was willing to continue to try and win over the other canine. It was this same persistence that had won Frost, her alpha, over and even Nadya, who seemed particularly untrusting of her simply for having the luck of being a wolf. Scarlett was certain that in time the prickly exterior Malia kept up would wear away and perhaps they could be like sisters? They may not be as different as the Coyote seemed to think they were. At the very least she hoped they could cohabitate without incident.

Long, limber legs stretched across the forest floor. It had been awhile since Scarlett had been able to shift and truly experience the freedom and wildness that came with her other half. The rest of her pack had been busy with their own things or dismayed by the summer storm that loomed outside, leaving the wolf to take a midday run by herself. Her cream and chocolate fur had been a blur through the trees as she traveled deep into the heart of the forest known as a safe haven for Were kind to be able to shift and run free and safe from wandering eyes or territorial disputes. For the supernatural community, these forests were Terra Nullius: nobody's land. Her power stirred within her with the presence of the storm clouds above, aching to reach out and take hold from mother nature and orchestrate her own production. But Scarlett was entirely content to simply dance with the storm, follow its movements to the symphony of rolling thunder.

The unique colored wolf definitely did not look as though she belonged amongst the trees as her movements slowed upon approach to a small stream. Her coat coloring and markings had always been unique, often remarked as stunningly beautiful. Soft padded paws took a more leisurely gait than mere moments prior, shifting to a gentle trot before halting all together before the running water. She stepped in it, feeling the chilled water slip through her toes and around her paws with delight at the cool sensation. Her tail wagged lazily behind her as her onyx nose lifted to the sky inhaling the scent of pine and earth. After a moment of appreciation she layed gently down within the stream's embrace, emerald eyes closing as she enjoyed the contrasting cold from the hot air. Though she seemed relaxed, her senses remained trained to the slightest sound or scent, or even feeling, that something was off, and in an instant that tranquil wolf would turn with teeth and claws ready to defend herself should the need arise.
