South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Hunting during daylight was still very new to the child vampire. It required a completely different set of rules which she was unfamiliar with. It also meant that there were no shadows to lure victims to or utilize her shadow ability with. Those reasons had Anna's hunger dulled slightly as she sat upon that swing and eyed the children and their caregivers. The one child that did catch the vampire's attention had grace in her movements even as she ploughed headlong through the obstacles of the playground. Only one familiar with the species of the supernatural world would notice the very subtle point of the girl's ears indicating fae heritage.

The monkey bars proved to be the fae child's weakness as the girl tumbled down unceremoniously to the sand beneath. Blood blossomed to the surface of her skin and that coppery scent traveled easily in the breeze to the vampire, pulling that dulled hunger to the forefront once more. Anna couldn't ignore something like that and was pulled from her swing to close the distance between the fallen child and herself. The control which the vampire exhibited was immense, so used to simply pouncing on her victims. It was the warm bright rays of the sun which saved the fae in this instance. Anna's fingers clenched and fidgeted at the sides of her dress as she worked through that internal battle, offering the fae a solution to her monkey bar problem all the same.

Anna nodded slowly, "Your hands are too slippery. The sand dries your hands...like chalk." Those sapphire hued eyes watch the girl right herself from the ground once more, rub her hands in the sand, then leap back onto those bars. This time the girl conquered those monkey bars and with subdued glee returned to thank her. Anna tilted her head slightly at the girl's words. She supposed one need such as hunger could be pushed away even for a few more hours for the other childish need for companionship in play. "Anna-Marie." Names were required for play? Then again she mostly only played with her food which didn't leave a whole lot of time for introducing oneself. "I like to play tea party." Could she get the girl to follow her back home? "I have lots of dolls and cookies and a big house we can play hide-and-seek too." At least none of what she said was false. Despite her previous caregiver fleeing the city, it seemed she still paid the housekeepers to come and clean and stock the shelves with sweets for the child.
