South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

death incarnate & night triumphant

Her smile makes Andras happy, relieved he could pull the girl back into that state she was only moments before. Grinning at her, Andras gives a small shrug, "Oh, we could make them dance theirselves silly, or we could fly them around, there's a million different things we could do!" He exclaims playfully, tilting his head as she begins to get giddy. "I like the dancing idea best. They wouldn't know what got into them!" He chuckles quietly watching as she covers her mouth to prevent the giggles from coming out. Quirking a smile at her again, it isn't long before their conversation takes a turn, Maeve metaphorically slinking back into her shell as she explains she doesn't want to return to her foster home. It truly was a conundrum, whether or not to take her back. An internal struggle to do right but knowing she would soon be transferred again. The city needed foster care that welcomed the supernatural order too, not just human children.

He holds a sigh back, pitting the girl before him, "If you don't want to go back, then you don't have to," he says gently, "Humans have a hard time understanding us sometimes, not just faeries but all magic. Sometimes they fear it and sometimes they chose not to understand it, they would rather stay in the dark," he explains in the best way he can, hoping Maeve would understand. He's quick to change the subject, the girl growing giddy once more as she seems to be transported into her own personal day dream, Andras stifling a chuckle as she pauses for the briefest of moments. The waitress pulls her out of her dreaming to produce a massive tower of pancakes. Andras watching her eyes go round as he accepts the cup of tea.

As she announces her thanks, Andras nods at her, attempting to drink his own tea and as she boldly claims she hasn't had pancakes it years, it makes him choke on his drink with laughter. Setting the cup down, he coughs a couple of times to clear his throat, "Years? Is that so?" He laughs lightly, "Well, I hope they are the best pancakes in the world," he offers as he watches the girl ravage the plate. Andras is almost surprised she didn't altogether do away with the fork and start using her fingers! As she works her way through the food, he gives her a moment before asking her his next set of questions. He's almost surprised she doesn't clam up but she seems to be coming around, feeling a bit more comfortable with the high lord. Offering her an encouraging smile, he feels a shiver run down his spine as she explains her powers.

Andras knew many who would use this girl as a tool if they managed to get their hands on her. It was an extraordinary gift to have and he could see it becoming... troublesome if she weren't taught properly how to use it. "Perhaps not right now, there are a few too many prying eyes here," he explains as he downs the rest of his tea. "Now Maeve, I have a very important question to ask you and I need you to think really hard about it. If you need some time to think about it please take all the time you need," he smiles at her, leaning forward, "I told you about Somnia and the other faerie children like you that live there. We have a school and teachers who can show you how to use your gift properly, to do good with it. If you want, you can come live with me and I have a... friend who could take care of you," he pauses as a flash of pain rolls through him as he thinks of Lani, "And it would be your decision if you wanted to stay with us or we could find you a suitable faerie family in Somnia. You are your own person, therefore I want you to think really hard about what you want to do." He finishes, leaning back.

This wasn't kidnapping, right?
