The collision to the ground with the hunter was the least of her problem. The pounding hooves were more deadly in that moment than the hunter. Nadya managed to somehow avoid that and make the shift to her panther form which felt much more useful in this situation. The panther didn't even offer a glance back and took off at a run to those gates that were closing. All she needed was to get close enough to do the amount of damage needed to blow those heavy steel hinges. The bullet graze to her hip shook her but at least didn't take her down as she unleashed that explosive energy on the door making it shake and groan to a halt. It was something.
Nadya turned from those gates with the clear intention of finding Frost once more and was not kept waiting as he too was already on his way towards her. It was a twist of fate perhaps though that the very distress calls of Frost's own offspring sliced through the air. Nadya knew in that moment that Frost's original plan of separating had to happen. The herd needed him up front, her presence wasn't necessary for that and there was no way she'd not help one of his children. That single demand for Frost to go on was all she offered before taking off back against the thundering herd to where the hunters still attempted to pluck them off. The panther used the high vantage point of the roofs to her advantage, avoiding both the thick snow that could slow her down and the chaos of the stampeding herd. Once she was above the hunter there was no hesitation to that leap upon him. That scramble was nearly a blur as claws swiped at his twisting form. It was only that blossoming pain of the dagger digging into her shoulder that seemed to sharpen her senses and allow her that window to crunch down on his skull effectively ending his life.
The panther wearily noted the thinning herd as she stumbled away from the fallen hunter. Those new arrivals of mounted units so causing anger to well within her. Between the bleeding wounds, her lack of food the past few days, and the tremendous amount of energy she had just expelled on the door...she was beginning to grow weak. Still, enough adrenaline guided her closer to those approaching hunters that now drew weapons on the herd instead of ropes. Detaining apparently was no longer a part of their plan. Nadya gathered all her energy and unleashed her pain ability, stretching it to a capacity she had never achieved before. Those hunters readily falling from their mounts in agony with blood from their orifices. That mental exertion causing blood to trickle from her own nose. Nadya drew her ability away, finding that shift rather shakily before stripping a hunter of his long snow coat.
The leap onto the passing run away was rather a surprise for both of them. Her bleeding shoulder screamed at the movement but she managed to grab hold and pull herself up nonetheless. Nadya issued that single command for the young stallion to keep going despite the snow fall that continued to pick up, swirling around them with the wind making visibility difficult. She had no idea where Frost was but she hadn't felt his pack bond sever which meant he was still alive.
Nadya had the horse follow the edge of that rocky plain all the way out without slowing down until they reached the large outcropping where Frost had originally had her hide their supplies. It was there she pulled up on the reigns. "Here." The horse stopped though Nadya remained on his back, staring at the snow covered rocks, mentally trying to psyche herself up. She knew she would have to remove the only layer she had on in order to dress in the clothes that were in the bag. Despite the cold that was already numbing her hands and feet, at least the bite of it had been shielded from her torso. It was in that moment that she heard her name in a very familiar voice that caused her heart to fill.
"Frost." Nadya turned her weary eyes up as her mate approached, shifting from stallion to man. It took another moment as he reached up to help her off her mount to notice a rope hanging around his neck like a noose. A look of tired confusion briefly crossed her features at it before that welcomed heat enveloped her followed by his lips upon hers. How safe she felt in his arms and how easily she curled into them. "Cypress it is then. Anywhere that I can sit by the beach and sip mojitos is a good place." It was nice to be able to smile again with at least the hardest part over with. "First, this." Nadya firstly plucked the rope from his shoulders and up and over his head to toss it aside unceremoniously then shrugged her shoulder slightly, indicating her need for healing. She waited only so long for Frost's ability to absorb her wounds before her lips found his once more. Surely it was as good of an excuse as any to prolong their moment a little longer as her healing ability stitched up those wounds he had taken from her. How interesting their circle was.
Only once Frost was tended to did Nadya step away to hastily pull out the saddle bag they had hidden and the clothes within it. With Frost's warmth surrounding her there was no hesitation in shrugging off the snow coat in order to dress in the warm clothes she had packed. It was nice to be able to feel her fingers again. Nadya stood once more and regarded the stallion which had remained standing there. Slowly she stepped up to him, unbuckling that saddle and tossing it aside as unceremoniously at the rope, followed then by the bridle. "You can either go back...or go and live a life of your own free will. ...Just know that you have a life worth living." Nadya gently touched her fingers to the stallion's jaw. She stepped away from him then to allow him to make his own decision, turning back to Frost with a soft smile. "Ready?" Nadya slung the saddle bag over her shoulders, completely ready for the next leg of their adventure.
