It was too good a day to not go sailing, the waters were inviting, beckoning him like a sirens melodious call. It felt wonderful to feel the cool sea wind press against his face, to fill the mighty black parachute-like sails with an eagerness to propel him forward. The boat cutting through the water with an ease. An eagerness that he mirrored with those silvery blue eyes of his, a soft sigh upon his lips. "This is living, eh mate?" He declared affectionately to tail wagging pup that barked loudly in response, as though his faithful companion could understand him. Clearly, he did not, but perhaps he fed off that trilling excitement that overtook the warlock then all the same. After all, wasn't this was truly living was all about?
That sea was relatively calm tonight and yet how easily that mood could shift, the ocean was as fickle as a woman at the best of times. So ruthless and unforgiving, yet he could want for nothing more. It was out here, he felt at home, with that vast ocean that made him feel like a mere spec within. It was out here those worries that once plagued him on land hardly bothered him now, as though they faded to the backdrop of his mind, swallowed up by the eager waves below. How cruel that he could not live out here forever... That he was cursed to return time and time again.
How he inhaled that wonderful cool salty air, as though he could become one with it. He reached over to scratch Barney on the head, scratching behind the collar. "Hold tight," The man muttered, that Irish laden voice cut swiftly to his companion as he loosened those lines so that they could tack without hindrance. It had been so very long since he had sailed with another so the warlock manned that ship with distinct fluent ease if only he could wield magic the same way he guided his April Rose. How well he knew that boat and how willing it gave into him like practiced partners. He spun that varnished teak wheel with those protruding spokes that easily yield to his guiding hands, a genuine grin plastered upon his lips while his hair is in wild disarray. How smooth that transition was and how quickly did they pick up that speed! Brilliant!
What he hardly anticipated was what was occurring below... Apparently, they had an unexpected guess.. Curious, he had never experienced anything like it. Suddenly, that boat is near violently collided with it, whatever 'it' was, shuddering like they collided with... something big. There was nothing else to describe it. Brennan quickly releases those lines to let the sails flap about helplessly about, they were going to sink if they were not careful! Blimey! What in all the actual hell was going on? Angerly, the Irish warlock swore as Barney began barking ferociously, baring those impressive set of teeth as if they were ready to be mercilessly put to work. As though those monstrous teeth seemed to crave that very crimson and perhaps that hellish creature did.
There was that shudder again. Dear god, this was how he was going to go and he hardly enjoyed the taste of a life without that demon at his doorstep. He was so close, he could taste it as clear as the salt on his tongue. Brennan stomped anger fueling him as he made his way to the back of the boat clearly irritated, summoning a bowling ball then tossing it over at the back with a loud, thick splash. He wanted.. whatever it was attention before it sunk his goddamn boat.
"STOP IT WILL YA, before you sink us to the bottom of the ocean." He yelled near belligerently, a hand placed on that boat as he leaned over the side as if to try and get a glimpse at what was causing such a ruckus. "If you don't I will show you what the end of this motor will do." He warns, eyes narrowing before summoning a pointy spear. How barbaric.. but it would do just fine.
"Come out you mangy beast and face me." For all he knew, it was another one of those demonic beasts that so desperately wanted a piece of him and well... come what may.. they could surely try.
