South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

It was much harder to hunt during the day. Anna was finding it rather difficult to find a secluded place to feed with so few shadows to hide amongst. One must eat though and she hadn't seen Taylor in days. She had managed to lure a woman off the path from her late morning run, feigning being lost and injured as that always seemed to tug at their emotions. That much Anna had learned over the many years. That warm copper liquid slid down her throat and warmed her body, flushing her cheeks with that stolen life.

It was the sound of laughter on the breeze that caught the girl's attention as she released the drained body. A groundskeeper would surely find it and clean it up within a day or two. Anna wiped the smear of blood from her lips with the back of her hand as she followed the sound of play. The solitude of her current life did make her draw to the sound of other children like a moth to the flame. Who that was more dangerous for was hard to tell.

Anna paused at the entrance of the park running path where the dirt met concrete, allowing her a visual of the playground ahead. So many children...so many adults. Hmm. At least she had just eaten so the hunger was gone. The child vampire crept closer, using the trees between each gap of space to hide halfway behind as she eyed the milling mass. Although her hunger was gone it could not stop her predatory instincts on how she scanned each child, observing just how suitable of a playmate they might be. It was during that careful observation that Anna spotted a rather familiar looking figure...though upside-down it was. Anna left her hiding place to scuttle up the climbing structure on the opposite side of the monkey bars, picking slowly across the wooden roof on her hands and knees before peering over the edge at the hanging figure.

With her head tilted slightly in curiosity, "Pssst.....pssssst...." That was honestly the best she came up with at the moment to get the girl's attention. One cautious glance was cast up to see if any of the adults this time around was watching.
