He listened quietly as she spoke so fondly of her pack. He nibbled on his sandwich and chips, taking far longer to savor and enjoy his meal than she did. But at the mention of Nadya and her twins, he smiled. He had met them before and they seemed so kind. The twins had been very eager to learn more about his surfboard, despite Nadya's insistence that they leave him alone. He had enjoyed the company and he loved teaching others how to surf, so it was no surprise that he was teaching them to appreciate water.
Taking a sip of his water, he washed down the last of his sandwich and chips before he looked back to Malia. "I met Nadya and her children here on this beach. Her children were fascinated with my surfboard. In fact..." He paused a moment as he looked up at her, meeting her gaze. "I'm supposed to help teach them how to swim. I miss teaching, so I am quite excited." It had been far too long since he had taught children how to swim and surf. Back in South Carolina, he had his own surf school. While the waves were not the best there, it did offer him some extra cash and time spent in his favorite place: the beach.
He cleaned up their trash and bagged it all to dispose of properly a little later. He reached into his bag and pulled out the bottle of sun screen before standing up. "Stand up. Let me put some of this on your back." He stood waiting for her to follow his lead and put down her towel.
Only when she was bare to him, he moved behind her, squirting some of the sunscreen into his hands. Slowly, he worked in a thick lather, starting at her shoulders and slowly working down to where her swimsuit just barely covered her bottom. His strokes were innocent and purposeful, trying his best to cover her so she wouldn't burn. "Okay, turn around..." Then he squirt some of the sunscreen on her arms, chest, and belly before doing the same to himself. "Follow my lead." He began to rub in the sunscreen, starting on his arms and working over his chest and then finally down his abdomen. "Can you do my back? Don't mess up, though...I don't want to burn." He grinned at her in a playful manner as he turned his back towards her so she could sunscreen him up.
