Raylin Chike
That was excitement coursing through her bones, her pink hair ruffling in the breeze as she stands on the beach, a dry suit clinging to her form. Her feet stuffed into boots made for surfing, cheeks lightly pink from the wind coursing off the waves. She had been waiting all winter to get back onto the ocean! Sure, it wasn't the most perfect weather for surfing but the dry suit would keep her warmish. Yet - it hardly mattered to Ray. She was nothing more than excited child waking up on Christmas morning, that feeling always tended to live within her. It didn't take much to please the woman and even the light drizzle of rain couldn't sour her mood. Gripping that board under her arm fiercely, she took a running start into the ocean. It doesn't take her long to paddle out, the freezing waters washing over her. She had to admit, it made her lose some breath - it was frigid. Within minutes, she's standing on her board and dropping down into the wave - a grin plastered across her face.
Raylin stays there all day long - breaking for a snack and to rehydrate and by the time she's finished, her body is exhausted though those adrenaline endorphins course through her veins. Her brain buzzes with excitement as she uses the community lockers and swiftly changes out of her suit and wraps her hair in a towel. The sun was beginning to set and the locker room was veritably empty, though it was normal. No one in their right mind would come to a beach while a continuous rained drizzled across the city. Though, to Ray - it was perfect. She didn't have to battle anyone for space! Still grinning, she slips her legs into a dark pair of jeans, stuffing her feet into warm boots and slipping on a rain jacket. She opts out of her beanie, simply because her hair would soak through it in a matter of minutes. Throwing her bag across her shoulder she steps outside into the fading light, and tucking her board beneath her arm.
She stands there, just on the pavement for a moment longer before setting her things against the wall. Another spur of the moment decision as she digs through her bag and retrieves a small flask - the breeze finally spearing through her body and a chill snaking down her spine. She wasn't quite ready to return home and she was certain it was far too late to pay Brennan and Barney a visit. She didn't think they would mind but decided against it. Instead, she leaves behind her things and strolls back out onto the sand, carefully walking across it so as to not get sand in her boots. Plopping, rather ungracefully down - she sighs and unscrews the cap off her flask. Taking one long drag - she inhales at the wrong moment and begins coughing rather frantically. Pounding a fist against her chest, she catches her breath finally and reseals the bottle before settling it into the sand next to her. Throwing her hands behind her, she slouches in a weary manner - exhaustion finally catching up to her as she watches the last of the sun die away.
