South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ain't life just awful strange

a new world hangs outside the window
beautiful and strange
it must be I've fallen awake
I must be

The kid looked nervous. She watched him from behind a skeptical gaze as he fidgeted, quickly swarming to pick up his fallen pencils and divert his stare away from hers. Buffy cocked her head to one side curiously as she watched him, silently enjoying his awkward struggle, but intrigued to find a dark hunter in such a frazzled state. She couldn't recall any hunter she'd ever met before who wasn't unwavering in their stony and stoic demeanor, almost to a fault. Despite their wide range of appearances and life experience, hunters were a dime a dozen. She hardly needed her hunter "spidey sense" to pick one out in a crowd.

But Buffy had never met a new hunter.

Realizing this, she studied the bloke that much harder as he put away his things. She scoffed to herself as it dawned on her. "Wait a minute, wait a minute." as she said her thoughts out loud. She waved her palms in place after his uninspiring answer confirmed her suspicion. "So you're just a baby, aren't you?" A high-pitched gurgle of a giggle left her lips, and one hand went flying to cover her mouth, stifling any more embarrassing sounds from leaking out. But she was still laughing behind it.

After several long seconds, she finally regained her composure, releasing the hold she had over her lips to reveal a bright smile still plastered there. "I'm sorry, well no, I'm not. I've just never met a baby before." There were plenty of dark hunters out there - ancient ones - who would indeed consider her merely a young babe dark hunter, too. She was still living a rather normal human life at just 32 years old, but still. She'd "legit stabbed" more weres and vampires than she could even begin to count at this point.

"I'm Buffy." She finally blurted out, extending her hand for a friendly shake, while the other tried to trap a few pesky strands of her dark hair behind her ear in the passing sea breeze.
