The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.
The University of Sacrosanct offers some of the top programs in the nation with its outstanding campus and specialized faculty. How oblivious Tobias was to the hurt upon his wifes features at his insistence he did not like photographs. Tobias, in his own mind, was unable to hear those words as Raven had. His mind having failed to process them in the way his mate had done as she glanced nervously at that photo album before reaching to take it from him. That single, abrupt gesture prompted the deviant's dark gaze to flutter towards her own. That expression upon her face was....difficult to read. Tobias, in that moment, struggling to place it within that catalogue of expression that existed within his mind. This face, the way her features eisted was.....different then what he knew. The man so momentarily caught off guard. Tobias decidedly unsure of how to respond before Raven nearly nervously asked after that photo album and why he liked those pictures when the others seemed to distress him. How readily his mind seized upon that simplicity within that question. Tobias, after all, was near masterful in answering what he liked and why or why one thing was better than another thing. Indeed those basic comparative skills were by far some of his favourites to employ. His delight in that question prompted a sudden grin to his features. The man oblivious to how out of place that look miht surely be in a moment such as this. Tobias shifted within his seat then, his hand reaching to point towards the photo album within Raven's lap.
"I like....all....pictures...but not....pictures of....me. I...do not want....doctor to....take photos of....me. Only the....baby."
Tobias nodded firmly then. The man attempted to explain his issues with those photographs. Tobias often seemed to find disdain in picture taking. At least- those pictures that possessed a flash. That bright, sudden light was an irritation. His mind all but rebelling agianst it. Tobias, it seemed, fearful that the doctor might somehow subject him to that blinding flash photography he so disliked. That sudden shift toward the mention of Halloween seemed to further engage the young man once more. Tobias peering toward Raven near eagerly beneath that mp of dark hair as she announced their child was due to arrive that very day. Halloween, Tobias was certain, was perhaps the best of holidays. His ability to remember, while limited on some occasions, seemed distinctly capable of remembering those things he enjoyed most. Halloween was surely one of them. The very notion that their son or daughter might be born on that day seemed to coax some measure of thought to the deviant's mind once more. Children meant more people. More people meant sharing. Tobias disliked sharing. Would he have to share with that child? Those questions turned within his fractured mind. Those thoughts slipping and twisting as he attempted to grasp them. His words, as always, came in a near stuttered, broken sequence as he attempted to formulate those questions. The concept of a baby was one he was familiar with and yet to picture a child that was not yet right there in front of him was....difficult. Tobias often struggled with those higher order concepts of thought and imagination.
Raven's soft insistence that they might not be able to go trick or treating only furthered that scowl upon the young man's features. Tobias, this time, glanced between Raven and her stomach. The Leopard was well aware of where that child lived, for now. The babys inability to see his scowl, however, had hardly occurred to him. Raven promised he would still have that candy, that no one would take it and how was he to get that candy if there was no trick or treating?
"Can the....baby come to....trick or treating?"
Was the baby....not allowed? His mind continued to struggle with that concept of how or why his child might limit that night. Those memories of Nadya giving birth and the sheer...difficulty of that act still somewhat lost within the confines of his thoughts. The sound of those ducks drew his gaze forward and away from his mate. The man once more considering those predatory instincts that stirred below the surface before abruptly announcing their child would surely be named Duck. Duck was a good name. Raven's inability to inform him of the child's gender however was yet another mystery that seemed to intrigue the deviant. People, he was sure, were men or women, boys or girls, there was no inbetween, no grey area, no unknown. That concept of growth was one Tobias was largely oblivious off. This, in so many forms, a decidedly new concept for the deviant. Raven's gentle assurance that the doctor would know the gender of the child saw the Leopards head tilt ever so slightly.
"I want....the doctor to....tell us...yes. I will come if....no pictures."
Tobias nodded once more, those terms decidedly clear. The man agreed to attend that doctors appointment on his own terms. That name of 'Duck' however, seemed to be a point of disagreement with his wife. Raven once more shook her head gently. Tobias, however, remained equally determined to name that child something. Important things had names, after all. There baby was an important thing he was sure. Her suggestion that 'Cub' might be a better name seemed to encourage the lanky man to consider it further. He remembered that movie. His mind retaining those snippets of information.
"It can...be Cub. Yes."
That, it seemed, was satisfactory to the boy. The sudden, rumbling growl within Raven's stomach prompted Tobias' eyes to lift in surprise as his dark gaze shifted to her stomach in clear....amusement. Whether or not he associated that sound with Raven r the child remained to be seen before his hand gestured suddenly to those ducks again.
"I can....catch for you?"
Raven, surely, would not say no to a roast duck! The very idea that Raven might not want to eat those cute, qucking creatures had hardly occured to him.
"Birdie."
Her name was uttered suddenly, clearly. Tobias turned back toward his wife then.
"Can we still...do the sex?"
That, he was sure, was an important question.
