How exciting to be able to build something with your own two hands. Zachary having spent most of his life in the ocean he never had an opportunity to build a life on land or experience something like woodworking. It was excitable to see someone so proud of their work and the man couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Though it hardly lasts long before he's diving deep and shifting. Racing for the surface, he rockets out of the ocean landing with a resounding slap on his side. A wave of sea water practically encompasses the boat for a brief moment, Zach pleased the see how drenched the man got and choosing to ignore the look of pure murder. He was safe for now, he didn't really think the stranger would jump into the ocean - well, at least he hoped not.
It was the dog that makes him pause, the orca swimming a short distance away to stay out of range - before that partial shift takes over. A sheepish grin tugs at his lips though it only lasts for a moment as the man lashes out. He deserved that he did and yet, it struck a chord. Pouting, Zachary couldn't help but share his life story, insisting he wasn't abandoned and that I was merely an accident. When he finishes, he watches the man peel his shirt off and deposit it on the ground before demanding the dog to get back. Barney. He did not look like a big friendly purple dinosaur to him. Frowning at the thought, his attention is snagged by Brennan again as he takes a seat at the edge of the boat.
He floats slightly closer, making sure he's just out of reach just as the stranger responds. Frowning, he folds his arms over his chest as goosebumps pebble along his body at the chilly waters, "That's not true," he grumbles, "I stayed to hunt and well, they went on without me because I told them I would catch up," he shrugs, "I could find them if I really wanted to I would just have to turn off my human side and let my animal take over... it's just a bitch to regain your humanity," he admits. Zach wasn't too keen at falling prey to his predator instincts, he had heard stories of shifters allowing their predator side to take over and they simply became animals from that point on. Horror stories his parents used to tell him and yet, these stories were actually real. Shuddering at the thought, he pushes it away and explains about Arya. Raising his brows in disbelief at the man, Zachary laughs loudly, "Oh come on, I definitely have a way with the ladies," he throws his hands up in exasperation, "You should hear what they say about my blowhole," he deadpans for a moment before erupting into laughter.
"My way with women and people are perfectly fine, but let's hear your advice," Zach responds, amusement playing on his features. He listens politely, his arms folding across his chest again as that chill seeps deeper into his bones. He could probably stay like this a few more minutes before he needed to shift and have that protection of flubber to insulate his heat. "It's not like I can actually go on land to chase some tail right now, I would get arrested for streaking," he rolls his eyes dramatically, "I have no clothes and no money in this city, that's why I've been hanging out on the coast," he responds matter of factly. "Oh and I'm pretty sure you do get laid if you eat a girl," he waggles his brows, tipping his head back and laughing, sure he laughs and makes the joke and yet, Zachary had very little experience when it did come to women. He was just simply good at toting his dirty jokes. Moving on, he inquires about the man and he can't say that he isn't disappointed to learn more but that sheepish grin returns to his face.
Brennan. He tests it out once in his mind before offering a shrug, "We aren't friends... yet," he states with a simper. Introducing himself, he can't help but chuckle at the reaction, "Yeah, like Free Willy. It's a joke in my family that sort of stuck," he rubs his neck at the memory, "I got stuck in a fishing net when I was a kid and my uncle had to cut me loose and he shouted 'free willy' when he finished and it was forever my nickname," he laughs again almost wistfully. Pushing away the fond memory, he looks back up to Brennan as he swims a little closer, a wary eye watching the devil dog on the deck. "Are you headed back to the city? Can I come?" That sheepish grin returns, he suspected the man would deny his request but it wouldn't be that hard to follow him under water.
