South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Where you invest your love, you invest your life;

It's not the long walk home that will change this heart, but the welcome I receive after the restart.

Perhaps Dareios had underestimated this young reporter. She was like a dog with a bone, drawn to this needle she think she found in a haystack. But in reality, Sacrosanct was a moderately large city. The more people you shoved into tight spaces, the more crime there tended to be, whether supernaturals were involved or not.

Given his age, it came as no surprise that the vampire mayor was a bit old fashioned. He liked newspapers, and publicly funded and supported many of them. He preferred the conversations he had with print reporters over the broadcast ones. He found their wit and intellect to be at a higher level, and generally enjoyed the policy and problem solving type questions they brought to the table. Ms. Dabney here, operated on a different level. It was peculiar. She went for the jugular right off the bat, and then hissed defensively when she didn't get the answers she wanted. Dareios thought maybe this was just her inexperience talking here.

When she spat back about the police chief, a wiry grin spread across his lips before he actually scoffed a laugh. "You think the police chief lives in a mansion? Please." He said through a toothy smile, his eyes once again surveying the room. "No one in local government is paid that well, dear." Dareios on the other hand, his personal wealth had obviously been accumulated long before he ran for public office in Sacrosanct.

"Can I give you a tip, Ms. Dabney? You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. If you're trying to build sources in this town, drop the bulldog act." He said, his facial expression falling flat now, and his lips pursed. "And maybe smile a little. It goes a long way."

One cold, undead hand then dug into the breast pocket of his sport coat, eventually revealing a business card placed between his fingers. He flicked it toward the reporter then, offering it to her, if she wanted. "You're smart." He said curtly. "I promise I'll look into your 'serial killer'. Why don't you give me a call next week, and we'll see what we find, hm?" It was best to keep an eye on this one, the vampire mayor mused.
