Arya was entirely unused to social interactions like this. In her twenty six years of life, she had met a multitude of different people, more now than ever since she lived in the bustling city of Sacrosanct and worked at the local aquarium. Yet Zach was like no one she had ever met before; the WereOrca's overabundance of energy and sheer overbearing, yet friendly attitude left her reeling in shock. She was already an incredibly introverted creature by nature, struggling to navigate even normal social situations without shyness creeping into her and leaving her a stuttering mess, but this interaction was leaving the poor girl feeling as though her head was spinning from whiplash. How desperately she tried to keep up with her new companion's almost constant motion and talking lest she come off as rude, but the most she could muster were rather simple responses or even just patient listening before he was racing off to another topic. How much he reminded her of a child, so desperate for attention that he gleefully flailed into her personal space and barraged her with questions and statements. It was truly hard to believe that this Were, with the personality of a puppy, was trying to eat her moments earlier.
For a moment she was able to gain some semblance of footing in the topic he had started on the stark size difference between the two of them. Despite her best attempts at a witty reply, his almost immediate rebuttal that she was calling him fat left her stuttering. All she could muster was a pout, sticking her tongue out with a mental reply of no. It had always bugged Arya just how poor she was at conversing, it was a pure lack of confidence mixed with a constant anxiety at accidentally saying the wrong thing or having someone not like her that left her with little friends. In the very least, her reply amused Zach, his boisterous laughter filling their mental connection as his mouth hung ajar in what appeared to be a toothy grin. Of course calling his animal form fat didn't hold the same negative connotations that it did if she had said that about his human form, after all, in animals like orcas and seals, fat was a sign of good health. Yet his accusatory tone had left her still feeling guilty. Her head tilts curiously as he tells her she isn't wrong, though she already knew that with her marine biology degree. However she was slightly confused that he called it flubber, wondering if perhaps he had mashed together the word fat and blubber.
Warm brown eyes blink in confusion as Zach comments on her name then.
Arya truly begins to understand Zach as he explains his current situation. She couldn't imagine how lonely he had been since getting separated from his pod, his only source of companionship most days of the year. That overbearing excitement and friendliness was also a form of desperation to receive any attention from her, be it good or bad, and she was certain he was used to bad. How many people reacted negatively towards him, grew annoyed and snapped? It made Arya sad, he seemed so genuinely nice too. Perhaps then, she could be his friend, offering him some respite from the sea's lonely embrace. After a quick resurface, she decides the least she could do would be to offer him some clothes, so that, even when she wasn't around to swim with him, he wouldn't be trapped in the ocean and could entertain himself on land. Her offer is met with immediate excitement, his yelling and sudden movement even closer to her startles her. Her small grey form flinches, both from the surprise and from a mild amount of fear that he would accidentally smack her with those massive pectoral flippers he wiggled around.
Amber eyes blink for a moment as she calms herself, listening as he bombards her with questions about if she would take him around and where they should go. Well....that hadn't exactly been her plan, but she could at least spare him some of her time she supposed. There was no way he could drag her very far, there wasn't enough time left in the day for a whole lot.
