In fairness, breaking into the zoo was not the idea they both wanted to go with originally. It just so happens their hair-brained idea was the only one that made sense. Sure, you could get these ingredients from the black market, but could those shifty dealers be trusted? Absolutely not. Another option was to leave Sacrosanct and try to hunt down the creatures they were looking for. That excursion would cost them too much time and money, doing neither of them any good. Serafina couldn't afford to leave her business closed for weeks or months. Raven hardly wanted to leave her pack behind, especially having them look after her son. Rhett was her responsibility, and it wouldn't be fair to them to watch over her son. Nope, to resolve this problem for Serafina, the best option was to break into the zoo. It was such an absurd idea, and yet here they were, levitating over the zoo's magnificent iron gate. Hopefully, they wouldn't get caught, because a lot could go wrong. For one thing, being behind a cage again, even a jail cell, didn't sit well with her, and it wouldn't do anyone any good if she was in one either. Not to mention the humiliation of calling the Ark and asking Tetradore to help bail her out of jail. If she had to make that phone call she would prefer Mira at the other end of the line, because at least she would have a sense of humor about it...eventually. The she-wolf was certain she could put up with Mira's teasing. Being arrested may also cause additional eyes and ears to focus on their home and they didn't need that extra scrutiny too. Then there was Azrael and his bickering and complaining. Raven had no interest in listening to Azrael chastise the two of them for getting into trouble, neither of them deserved that. This heist had to work - failure simply wasn't an option.
Quietly, she observed the zoo's map with Serafina nodding in agreement to her plan. It seemed doable. Thankfully, they wouldn't have to tangle with an alligator, bear or tiger. Those creatures would be a bit more difficult to take on alone, even if she alerted her size. Taking her zoo map, she folded it up and placed it in her pocket, watching the witch take the lead. As they made their way through the zoo, she couldn't help, but raise her shoulders a bit, feeling completely uneasy being back at the zoo. The last time she was here wasn't a pleasant one. Her telekinesis power would've come in handy. Then she wouldn't have had to transform out of her wolfish side and be bare naked scaling up a tree in front of her future Alpha. For a moment her pale cheeks suddenly turned scarlet as that mortifying scene began to play in her head. With a few shakes of her head, she dismissed that terrible memory, trying to refocus on the plan at hand. Nearing the avian sanctuary, her head would tilt to the side each time she heard rustling feathers or a strange bird call. Quietly she looked at the pictures on the wall that hung up next to each exhibit, showing the zoo visitors the type of bird they should look for. Away from the predator raptor area the two of them eventually made it to the Peacock exhibit. The sign for the peacock showed the male bird with his teal and green feathers sticking out in all its glory. Typical males, always showing off. Looking over at the witch, she flicked her hand and started to bring the two of them over the laminated glass and into the peacock exhibit and begin their search.
Lifting her head for a minute she started sniffing the air making note that in this particular exhibit, there must be one male peacock and two females. They were probably locked up for the night or sleeping in some trees. Bending her head down, with the help of some of the lamplight posts nearby and the moonlight, Raven looked for those colorful teal and blue feathers. If she found a feather, she would pick it up, keeping note of the count. When she couldn't carry anymore she walked over to Serafina, presenting the witch with her collection of pretty peacock feathers. After Serafina took the feathers she wanted, Raven would levitate the two of them out of the peacock exhibit. Pulling the folded zoo map from her pocket, she opened it for the two of them to see which path they needed to take to visit the ocelots. Frowning some she sighed softly, hating what she was about to propose.
