South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

come, crash into me

all this devotion was rushing over me, and the crashes are heaven, for a sinner like me, but the arms of the ocean deliver me.

Mere moments after I felt the mental vibrations of the words in my mind it dawned on me that I should have left at a much earlier time. I knew little of the city yet so as the darkness grew and began to blanket the city in more than a tide of snow, the realization began to blossom sprouts of worry in the pit of my stomach. Without fail I could call my brother â€" either of them, and either man would have rushed to my rescue to save me from whatever lurked in the darkness of the city that they were far more familiar with than I at this point. I knew I was in the South side of the city and my apartment was located ... where was that, again? If only I had thought to ask the pretty red-headed vampire for her phone number, I could have implored the woman for directions instead of either of my gargoyle-like brothers. With a sigh laced in apprehension at acknowledging the animal's words, I turned in order to focus entirely on what seemed to be a female wolf who had locked her deep gaze upon me.

In the long moment I had to process the wolf's words, I realized there was a curious component to them that did not sound too reminiscent of the Big Bad Wolf who was going to blow the piggies' houses in. What made her beautiful? Hundreds of images sped to mind, illustrating why I thought the she-wolf was picturesque though no words came to mind that would do my answer justice. There was something so purely animalistic and natural about capturing the wolf with her prey that the scene had all but begged me to capture it within the confines of my camera. Why? There is beauty in following instinctual desires. The gentle scaring over the wolf's face helped, too... Such scars must have been wounds of a dark time, and clearly her presence now meant that the wolf had turned out the victor of whatever circumstance branded her with the scars.

"Whatever gave you those scars must have been traumatizing and brutal. The scars are a sign of strength and perseverance... And I think that makes you beautiful."

I wish there had been words created that would help me elucidate on that point in a far more descriptive manner, though the simplicity reeked with a genuine thoughtfulness that I must have instilled in it. Settling with that as a description for why I had just needed to capture the wolf, my fingers gently touching the corner of the Polaroid that had captured her meal. Respectfully, I should have torn the image the moment I heard the hostility in the voice permeating my mind, but instead I found my eyebrows knit together in a kind of concern that would lead anyone to understand I was deep in thought about the right course of actions.

"You look noble, here... Like you know something onlookers never could. I can leave this for you or I can tear it up..."

The Polaroid dangled limply from my fingers, hoping that I might either be able to keep the picture or make a copy of it as it truly did resemble a scene of a kind of wild nobility and beauty that I didn't want to forget while living as a prisoner of a paved jungle.
