South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

South
long live the pioneers
rebels and mutineers

The call of night awoke her, though the call sounded very much like TV's blaring in living rooms and muffled shouts of displeased spouses resonating through her paper thing walls. She stretched in her bed, back arching and arms and legs splayed wide in the pile of sheets and blankets it was made of. Reaching out she discovered the warm, furry body of Grayson, the tabby cat who had adopted her, and ran her slender fingers through his gray fur. Smiling she scratched him absentmindedly, working out what she would do tonight. She needed money and part of her itched to go out to the high class bars and find a new target, make some easy cash, and yet still the job Frost had lain before her hovered over her head like a dark shadow. Groaning she sat up, cradling her head in delicate hands before rolling off the bed and padding silently on bare feet to her closet.

Reaching in she grabbed a small satchel from a hook and quickly stuffed in a pair of shorts and a tank top before pulling back the curtains that covered the window over the fire escape and pulled up the window. Briefly she scanned the sky, noting the lack of clouds and how the stars shone brightly above the more deserted parts of the city. Good, no clouds meant no storms... it was bad enough when she had to weather storms in human form much less when shifted. Nodding to herself she brought her head back inside, quickly stripped down and shifted.

Pulling out of the change she shook, adjusting to the feel of soft fur where skin had once been, all fours on the ground, and her sudden heightened senses. Brilliant eyes of ice blue blinked slowly as she looked around, her eyes landing on Grayson who looked at her incredulously from the blanketed bed. She remembered when he had first seen her shift, he had hissed and spat, fluffing up his entire body until something about her scent must have been recognizable to him and he calmed. Silently she padded over to him now, butting her large, spotted head against his own, a loud purr rumbling in her throat. Surprised as she had been when the cat brazenly strode into her life she was glad he hung around.

With one final rub of her cheek against his she expertly wiggled the strap of the satchel around her neck, like a collar so if she must change back at least she wouldn't be running about utterly naked. Then she turned to the window and stepped out into the moonlit fire escape and delicately placed one large paw on the raised window before pulling almost entirely closed, just enough room remaining so Grayson could slip out if he so desired. Her body turned in one fluid motion as she ascended the fire escape; it was too early for her to go into the streets below, no matter how adjusted the populace of Sacrosanct believed themselves to creatures such as herself. Instead she leapt silently to the roof top, making her way south until the streetlights dimmed at the edge of Hyde Park. Only then did she descend into a dark alley and make her way into the winding paths that took her across the bridge and into the Outskirts.

Her kind enjoyed the relief from prying eyes that the dark forest brought, its thick boughs and branches a relief from the mundane world that those in the city still clung to. Beneath the heavy fog her lithe body moves in silence, large paws treading between the tree trunks as her pelt almost glows. In winter her coat is a pristine white beneath black markings, and though it currently possessed the summers almost tan tint, tonight it shimmered almost iridescent, magic perhaps. Lazily her long, plush tail flowed behind her powerful body before she picked one of the large trees, climbing it quickly before stretching out on a low hanging but powerful branch. There, with large snowy paws crossed before her, her tail swishing absentmindedly her gemlike eyes passed over the landscape. Waiting.
