South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

How does a man decide in what order to abandon his life?

I cut gently into the fragile egg, the sight of the yellow yoke oozing slowly over the plate making my stomach turn, and not in a good way. I slurp down the rest of the coffee instead and continue to take the occasional bite from a piece of bacon. I focus my attention on the girl again, completely oblivious to how uncomfortable I made her when I clapped her on the back. It's a custom in my town that is nothing more than a friendly gesture, but these city types get so uppity about it sometimes. She digs into her meal and breathe a silent chuckle. She had more food in front of her than I'd eat in three days. I smile when she defends her meal and focus back on mine, two measly plates of eggs and a few strips of bacon. I didn't eat much -- mostly because I couldn't really afford to for many years, so I guess my body is trained to live on little. But after a hunt like the one last night, a gruesome sight it was, I rarely had an appetite. So this was a rare moment this stranger got to share with me.

"Oh, this is plenty for me," I say, finally beginning to pick at the eggs.

Something is peculiar about this girl, especially the way she eats. I watch her from the corner of my eye as my eggs slowly begin to disappear. I've never seen a woman quite as ravenous as her. Well, not a human one, that's for sure. So I watch and begin to notice some details about her that perhaps I didn't notice before. She seems completely at ease in my company, and despite the weapons I had sheathed behind my ailing coat, she didn't seem to let on that she's made me a hunter. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid. Or maybe I just don't want to take another life in the middle of this cafe in the suburbs.

The buzz is beginning to fade now, thanks to the food, and subsequently, so does my good mood. A deep, gurgling exhale leaves through my parted lips, the damp cough reeking of whiskey. I close my eyes for some time, heavy knuckles rubbing fitfully into them, and I curse the damn hour long commute I have to get back into the heart of the city. My vision is hazy when I finally reopen my eyes and I blink it away. "So girl, what are you doing all the way out here in the suburbs?" She didn't really fit the quiet town part, with the jacket and everything.
