West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

Kato Buhari

Kato made it a point to stay out of the pack politics that seemed to dwell between those of Edie's pack and the one that resided in the Ark. He was Switzerland if you must. However, when Edie had chosen one night as he was drifting off to sleep with her body pressed against his side to announce that she had the plan of entering the Ark to gather intel for her Alpha...he had deemed it a horrible plan. He believes he used the word stupid actually. The rhino had made it a point to tell Edie just exactly how stupid of a plan it was and insisted that he accompany her to pick up the pieces. Edie's assurance that she was more than capable fell on deaf ears. He could be just as stubborn as she after all.

The whole walk from the pack house to the docks was one of silence. He knew what could happen when she entered that boat if things went south. He himself had never been within the Ark and only knew it by word of mouth as some grand spectacle of fights, gambling, and drinking. Edie's insistence that he remain outside was met with more protest. However, there was good point to the fact that if she accompanied him and things did go bad that he was no longer Switzerland. He would be lumped with consequences for a pack that he had not sworn to. So he waited...albeit it impatiently. Kato stood out in the brisk spring night on the wooden dock with his arms crossed over his chest watching people come and go from the only obvious entrance that was overseen by a single man perched on a stool. It was hardly any major security measure from what he could see but he supposed that the man could have an unknown ability to aid his job.

The looks that the man was giving Kato in suspicion caused Kato to leave his stationed spot to walk down one of the nearby side docks. It wasn't long before a loud popping sound drew his attention. At first he thought it was simply an echoing sound from the fights within but upon further investigation found that the sound could only be coming from outside. Kato paused on the length of dock that ran behind the Ark, separated from the ship by several yards of murky water that could not be penetrated by the moon or glow of the sparse lamps that scattered the dock. The singular sound stopped and caused Kato to pause in curiosity. For a moment he had convinced himself that it was nothing. It was when the loud popping sounded again, this time in rapid succession to each other, that his gaze quickly scanned the top of the Ark. That certainly wasn't the sound of a harmless bar fight.

From this distance he could just make out the figure with her back leaning against the railing. By now he would know that silhouette anywhere, her every curve and fall of her hair. He could see articles of something flying into the air with every explosion sound though what they were he couldn't tell. The distance didn't allow him to see Edie's face so he was unsure what was going on exactly though he knew that she didn't possess any power to make that sort of scene. It was that final deafening explosion that caused his eyes to widen, watching Edie's form topple over the railing to the water below. Her shriek met his ears though he didn't immediately see anything wrong. It was water after all and to him it was an easy escape from whatever had been going on above. It wasn't until Edie hit the water, her body sinking under the surface with flailing limbs did worry begin to etch his features. ...Swim! Surely she knew that.

Realization that Edie wouldn't be surfacing on her own and something was terribly amiss finally struck Kato. He quickly kicked off his shoes and pants, not bothering to remove his boxers as he ran and shucked off his shirt before diving into the water. The water was frigid enough that it was a sting to his system and tried to steal Kato's breath. He surfaced near where he saw Edie land, trying to find her and only noting disturb surface water indicating where she had sunk. "Damnit." He sucked in a breath and dove after the drowning girl.

Kato brought one arm to wrap around Edie, holding her firmly before yanking the both of them back up to the surface. He gasped at the air once when resurfacing, one arm outstretched to help paddle them both back to the dock. Thankfully it was a short swim seeing as he could manage quite a lot but lugging someone who had no idea on how to swim was burdensome. Kato helped to heft Edie up onto the dock before pulling himself up after her. He remained crouched by her, swiftly gathering her wet hair back from her face so she could breathe and cough out the inevitable water she swallowed. "Let it out." He spoke softly as his furrowed gaze traveled her body, noting the blossoming bruises and the wood shrapnel in her side. His normally light tone was overshadowed now with something else entirely.
