The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.
Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.
Bartender Raylin Chike
Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.
Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

I don't know why I like to hang out in this part of town but I usually end up here when I'm by myself. Raven is out again. I think she's with the leopard or maybe even at that wolf's shop. I think she works for him or something but it's none of my business so I don't ask. Instead I decided to find something for myself to do today but so far I'm clean out of ideas. I find myself down at the docks this time, looking down at the murky water as I sit on the wood boards that creak and groan every time I move. I glance up every so often, watching the fishermen with their nets. There's a small boat out on the water not too far from shore and I can just make out the huge net being pulled up, writhing with newly caught fish. It's peaceful out here. The sun is high in the sky and the light is warm on my back. I'm wearing some of the newer clothes Nadya picked out for me when we went shopping. I like the sky blue top and the tan shorts very much. They're bright and keep my hope up. My toes can barely reach the water so they make tiny ripples on the surface. I look at my reflection and sigh. What are my plans? I can't just keep living off of Raven's hospitality. I don't really think about things like jobs since I'm used to stealing food so money has no value to me, though I guess it would be nice to help Raven out with bills and such. I've noticed she gets these things in the mail that she has to pay money on and she said if she doesn't, we can't live there anymore so I want to pitch in. Maybe a job wouldn't be so bad. I sigh again as I slowly get up and start walking back toward the shore. The boat is starting to come back into port and I don't want to feel like I'm in the way. Besides, there's nothing but men on that boat and I don't want them anywhere near me if I can help it. I move back onto solid ground and lean up against the first warehouse I come to, daydreaming as I look up at the sky. That cloud kind of looks like a big cat. I shiver, thinking about the large cats from the first full moon. There's so many of them. Another cloud catches my eye. It looks like a cow...or maybe a horse. I'm not sure. I tilt my head, squinting my eyes as I try to look closer. |
