West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Cull & Pistol

Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Bartender Raylin Chike

Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar. Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

She probably understood his mindset on many things more than most because of her unique background. She knew about protecting emotions because she went without them mostly through much of her life. As a coyote, not many emotions were necessary and if you let them consume you, you would just be stuck on the outside looking in. Most coyotes just felt in terms of what they needed. It wasn't love so much as possession on the male's part and submission on the female's. It wasn't compassion as much as it was a need for survival. If a coyote went out of their way to feed a wounded coyote, it was because they didn't want scavengers coming for the body so close to home, not because they truly cared. Malia hid most of her emotions so she understood continuing to hide them. She could already see that humans could be much more dangerous with emotions than animals.

As for the way he chose to lead, she could understand it completely because it's all she ever knew. Coyotes weren't kind leaders who shared they care. They were demanding and aggressive. They put others in their place or entrusted their Beta to do it for them. She was the enforcer as part of her pack so she knew about showing no mercy so others would chose to follow you without hesitation. Frost was much more kind than most in her opinion. He adored his mother. She could tell just by the brief glimpses she caught of his emotions around the robotic short answers he chose to give. When they turned to the subject of Hunters, she was hardly intimidated. Sure, they sounded like a challenge but she'd never turned away from that before so why start now? So if Councils and databases made them a force to be reckoned with, why couldn't Were's prove they were just as competent and do the same? If she could get coyotes to band together in large groups and hunt like wolves, why couldn't she do the same with Were's?

It was the same idea in her mind. They were scavenging behind the scenes, thinking of the Hunters as the bigger predators when they could be hunting the predators, taking themselves above them on the food chain. It was a very tempting idea. Frost seemed to indulge her, saying he could get information on some of them and then asking for ideas on getting others to use their powers. She grinned, her eyes sparkling. "Oh yeah." She thought it out in her head before she started pacing. It seemed to help her chose her words. "You say we can't take them on as a force so they split them up, catch them by themselves. We'll need at least 2 or 3 Were's out at at a time so we can get them one on one. Distract the others if necessary. Then taunt the ones we need information on. Hurt but don't kill. If we have any Were's with skills for drawing out thoughts or powers, that would be helpful too. We might need disguises though to keep our pack off their radars. Face paint or something. If you go in animal form, disguise your unique markings so they can't lead back to us."

She tilted her head as she paused, catching her breath. Her gaze swept back to him, looking for his input. She would take advice, further ideas or critiquing on anything that needs to be worked on but once she got an idea in her head, she was determined to see it through. She was surprised when he talked about going to save his mother and mentioned making her Alpha while he was away. It wasn't so much that she doubted her skillset. She never worried when it was just about her. It was just her life on the line so why worry? But taking responsibility for others? She was more confident of her skills to protect coyotes from other threats. But she was still learning the life of a supernatural and she felt out of her element most of the time. How could he trust her to keep them all safe when he was away? He shrugged though, seemingly unconcerned as he said that she would learn. She smirked. "That's a lot of teaching. You sure you up for it?"

Then he asked about her former pack and her role in recruiting so she jumped right in, ready to talk about that any time. He told her she was smart and she shouldn't water it down. She shrugged, feeling a little modest herself now. "You got it right. I was just trying to survive, that's it." He played along with her teasing about him being a decent alpha before he assured her that he looked forward to seeing who she would bring into the pack. Then he asked about other species and she nodded. She wasn't sure if she knew anyone really helpful. She didn't really want Miyako brought into it because she wanted to protect her and she didn't know enough about the male witch from the park enough to say she could trust him. She nodded. "Will do." Then he leaned away from the railing, asking if she was going out or if she'd stay for dinner. She grinned at the idea of fresh food. "As long as you don't try to feed me some carrots or something, I'll stay for dinner."
