I bet on me and my own heartbeat For the most part, the seeming nonsense this man, Ezekial is sprouting off to the little witch seems to almost go over her head. All this talk about Eden and Eve, it sounds utterly ridiculous. Kathryn cannot help but think all of this brings to mind something like a cult and Kathryn finds herself contemplating if she should run for the hills so she wouldn't be swept up into such brain washing. But she stays all the same. He talks about a bringer of life, and making the land the new Eden and Kathryn glances icy blue gaze to Damon. "Well, thats not true, is it?" She asks, a hint of worry in her voice. Had this been merely twenty-four hours ago, Kat would have shrugged off such talk with a simple wave of her hand, but now, what with the existence of vampires and witches coming to light, she finds herself unsure of what is reality and what is still left behind in bedtime stories. Damon relieves her worries as he labels the man insane, and Kathryn finds the knot in her chest unclenching, only to tighten right back up as the vampire mentions drowning Ezekial. Kathryn's mouth pops open as frostbite eyes widen, turning her face towards him. "Are you serious!?" She exclaims, her face reading only shock instead of both shock and fear which seemed to have been the common emotions earlier in the night. "You told me you weren't going to kill him, isn't that the whole point of me coming with you on this ridiculous...quest-adventure-mission, whatever the heck it you are calling it?" She says, her voice rising as she takes a few steps towards Damon. And again, she is entirely mystified in why the heck someone would really decide to marry someone as incredibly murderous as him. Kathryn felt a stroke of pity for the girl. The little witch turns back around as the man flails insults her way. Was everyone going crazy tonight? Sure, she had robbed him of some of his air supply, yeah, but she hadn't killed him! She feels heat rushing to her face in anger, but before she has a chance to react, Damon takes it upon himself to punish the man for her (even if Kathryn is unsure she could and/or would do what she had done to him before.) The scream pierces her ears and Kat claps her hands over them to block out the impending sound. The man says more words and the little witch continues to grow frustrated. "I don't want anyone killed, or kidnapped or harmed, got it?" She says, almost pleading so that both men would understand. What had she gotten herself into? But then her mind reels back to what Ezekial had said... "Did you say.. witch?" Kathryn's eyes of the same color as the frost found upon the first morning of autumn widening a little. "I'm not a..." and even as she says it she knows it is a lie she tells herself. How else would she have stopped a man from breathing using nothing but her mind, how else would she explain all the unexplainable things that have happened to and around her for most of her young life. She turns her bright blue gaze to Damon, still surprised, but the corners of her mouth have begun to tip upwards. "Am I really a witch?" She asks him, knowing the answer, but still wanting Damon's confirmation of it, since the vampire seemed to know all the ins and outs of the supernatural world. She wants to hear him say it, hear him speak the truth, because then, this weight she has been carrying inside her chest that she hadn't known existed until now will be lifted. Something she has been missing will finally be returned to her. |
