West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

She could smell him a mile away. The human stood out like a sore thumb in the crowd, not to mention that awful shirt he chose to wear. She scrunched up her nose as she pulled away from the doorway to her room that she'd been leaning against. Usually she was quick to get out on the deck or even further from the Ark when nightfall came and the arena opened up. She hated the fighting. The smell of blood so rich in the air, the sounds of grunting and screaming as they tore into each other like animals when they were so much more. She knew that sometimes you had to fight; sometimes it was about life or death. But she didn't believe in fighting for the fun of it. Sure, she'd gotten a lot better at it since her near-death experience with her father but that showed her even more so how precious life is. She didn't want to squander it by spilling blood not meant to be spilled.

She wandered down the stairs, sure it would only be a matter of time before some pumped up Were's still juiced from a good fight went looking for trouble in other places. A human would be prime game. Already, she could feel the tension in the air around where he congregated at the bar. Even the bartender was hesitant as he poured the guy a drink with shaking fingers, like he knew he was about to have to call in back up to pull someone off the guy or something. She caught a couple sneers on the faces of men as she scooted past. They weren't even paying attention to her or her pack smell. They were too distracted by the human at the bar. It was only a matter of time before someone happened and she needed to stop it if at all possible.

As she slid up against the bar, she managed to maneuver her way closer to where he stood, his back against the bar now as he looked around like he was on a fun field trip or something. She scowled, her brows furrowed as she leaned closer. "Do you have a death wish or something? You can't be here." She spoke low but knew the other Were's around could still hear. Even now, they were surveying her with renewed curiosity, probably only now taking in the fact that she belonged to the pack that runs this place. Maybe that would be enough to keep them at bay....maybe.
