West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

The easily solved problems that came with her job were no doubt what she enjoyed most about it. Things were often too complicated, her recent past included, and the simple straightforward solutions to the issues that arose during her shifts were almost relaxing. Something was low or empty, refill it. Something was dirty, clean it. Someone was getting too rowdy, charm them or toss them at last resort. Easy, clean, black and white. Coming from a world which had been morally grey there was something almost relaxing about it; an odd thought indeed inside what was likely the rowdiest place in Sacrosanct especially on nights such as this. She was glad to see Raven arrive, even if it was just to playfully chide her about her paranoia regarding their boss, though she had come to learn he was much more than just a boss to her. "Ah, is that how it works?" Her nose crinkled in sarcasm, the smile belying the humor if by some chance her tone was misread. Raven could make light of her running into Tetradore as she knew him so well, but then again she wasn't the one who had snuck aboard his ship and home as a thief and been caught to boot. No doubt that would leave a sour taste in anyone's mouth.

She nodded gently in acknowledgement and acceptance of Raven's reassurance. Time she was willing to give, thankful to repay the debt she was in to both the wolf and the Ark for giving her a chance. A chance at more than they knew. Still there was business to attend to and they were all eager and on edge for the night's festivities. She turned after posing her question, hands settled on her hips as she contemplated the liquors that lined the bar's rear shelves noting which would need to be refilled before the doors opened. She angled herself slightly as Raven replied, enough to see her out of her peripheral and nod in agreement. "More money is a good thing, I think that we can all agree on. We'll make it successful." There was determination in her words, a will to ensure that nothing went wrong that went beyond the desire for more cash in her pocket. If tonight was a success the Ark was a success and while here that was her only goal.

Due to her position she missed Raven's hand motion, only catching the box's movement out of the corner of her eye. She started slightly, turning at Raven's voice mentioning which box she could bring up. Sacro's inhabitants always came with a grab bag of different abilities, and while telekinesis wasn't particularly outrageous it was always a surprise to witness. You never knew what abilities someone you met might have, it made a person cautious. Swallowing her surprise the slender girl bent down to pick up the other box, hefting its weight and making her way towards the stairs. She took the steps slowly enough to ensure she didn't accidentally drop one, her hazel eyes lifting up to where Raven waited patiently at her question.

Her brows furrowed slightly at it, a mixture of her concentration on the steps and how best to answer why she had come here of all places. There were many reasons of course, but she wasn't sure which she wanted to reveal to her new friend. Despite being nothing but kind and welcome, Raven was still relatively new in Carolina's life and as such there was still a bit of caution when it came to more delicate matters. Stepping up on the platform beside the curly haired woman she rolled her shoulders lightly. "A bit of atonement I guess? Paying for past sins, but it was more than that too. It was... a sort of safety I guess. This place is a fortress." It was vague, but still the truth. There was a sort of security in being surrounded by her own kind that helped assuage some of the fear she had carried when she returned to Sacrosanct, her neck tingled with memories better forgotten. "How did you get here?" she asked in return, curious as to how such a gentle soul flourished here as she waited for Raven to lead the way.
