![]() Having her in his arms could make everything right in the world. He heard her little sigh and if anything, his arms tightened around her a little more, wishing he never had to let go. Of course, the spell was broken when they talked about the place he had been held captive for so long. When Troy told her about their past and hunting monsters, she turned around in his arms to have her back to his chest and he tensed up, unsure how she'd take the news. Surprisingly, she seemed to take it in stride as she admitted she didn't know that. Troy flashed him an apologetic look, obviously thinking he might get in trouble for it later, but she went on to tell his brother how different it was to be assigned cases and going out looking for them. Kit couldn't help but smirk a little, admiring her logic. Of course, his entire face sobered up quickly when she mentioned being terrified when Troy took her flying. Knowing exactly what she meant, his jaw dropped as he shot a glare at his brother over her head. "You took her flying?! What were you thinking?!" His arms tightened around her protectively. Who knows what could have happened? What if he accidentally dropped her or someone shot at them? She could have been hurt or worse! It sounded just like something Troy would pull though, especially when trying to impress a pretty girl. It didn't make it any better when Troy chose to laugh at his anger, simply rolling his shoulders in a shrug. "I was thinking it would be fun. And it was, wasn't it?" He added with a teasing wink to Sam. Obviously it was a fond memory for his brother and Kit was almost jealous in that moment of the time they shared together before him. When food was mentioned, the subject was successfully changed. Troy taunted her about loving Chinese food and Kit smiled adoringly as she tried to argue that Dorian wasn't great on the stove. He couldn't help but tilt his head in question. "What rock has this Dorian lived under that he doesn't know how to work a stove?" It just seemed outlandish to him. Troy only chuckled and shook his head. "That's a whole other box of crayons you're leaping into, big brother. Dorian is something else." He added with a fond smirk as he thought of his Fae friend. Troy was quick to start calling out his order once the phone was passed his way and Kit took advantage of the privacy to make Sam giggle before she admitted they were having a girl. He couldn't contain his excitement. His heart felt like it was going to leap right out of his chest. A little girl for him to spoil and treat like the princess she was. He couldn't wait. She said she was almost positive, that she could feel her. As she pressed his hand to her stomach, his brows creased together in concentration as he tried to feel something, anything, to let him know his daughter was there. At first, there was nothing. There was a flicker of disappointment in his eyes right before he felt it, the slight kick. Instantly, his eyes lit up and found Sam's gaze in wonder. His lips couldn't stretch far enough in his happiness and he was almost afraid to talk, his voice barely a whisper. "There she is." When asked about names, Sam brought up a few, saying she never thought she'd have kids but she wanted a name for her. "Anything you pick would be perfect, but I do like Ariella." |
