He had hoped that his admission would set her mind at ease, to prove that it was all his fault that they hadn't seen each other in months. But instead of putting her mind at ease, it appeared as though she grew even more confused.
When she began to question what he was feeling, he could see the way she began to doubt herself. This was not at all what he wanted her to feel like. He reached forward, his finger brushing along her chin to bring her eyes on his. He had always been awkward around woman, so this was no different.
