East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

there's something in the way

These were the nights that found her lamenting Damon's departure moreso than usual, the fist of abandonment clenched tight about a heart that would beat nevermore... and yet it bled for a love lost to the ether. These were the nights, when the pub was bustling and the sounds of laughter and music filled every lit corner, that found Isolt feeling most isolated. Exiled to the oasis-mirage of her own considerations, her own thoughts a silent storm meant solely for her to endure.

And yet these were also the nights that, despite all else, gave her some small dusty ray of hope that she was capable of all that had been placed upon her shoulders. She had managed to somehow catch the pieces of what Damon had broken and soldier on, with Chizue there at her side for every moment of weakness, for every near-collapse. They had bolstered what had been left to teeter at the precipice of catastrophe with Damon's sudden absense, and they had claimed the pub as their own as if it had always been this way. And, perhaps as daunting as any of it, Isolt had ascended to fill the proverbial shoes left vacant at the apex of their coven's societal edifice. Supreme. It remained a bit of foreign nomenclature even in the confines of her own headspace, a thing she never would have fathomed might one day be used to define her.

The business of networking for the coven, of constructing bridges so that others might rally with them, percolated through Isolt's mind as her eyes scanned the writhing mass of bodies that shuffled about Red on the Water, their raucous laughter drawing the most delicate simper to her plush lips. Until, of course, they fell upon the darkly alluring figure of a lone woman perched at the bar nursing a glass of their decidedly-expensive red wine... not a staple chosen by any of the noted regulars. The curse that rode the woman's whispered breath drew Isolt forwards, meeting the brunette damsel across the glossed wooden slope of the bar. "Is there something I can help you with?"
