The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

A new world hangs outside the window Beautiful and strange It must be I've fallen awake I must be Gia was contemplating all the things she could be doing tonight rather than sitting here in front of this vampire. She could be patrolling, wandering the streets looking for mischief and putting an end to it. She could request another assignment from the council. Hell, she could be high on her couch binge watching some show on Netflix and eating ice cream. All of those options sounded much better than her current one. The hunter was beginning to feel more at ease in Sebastian's company, believe it or not, but she was, of course, skeptical about that. She'd been duped before by their ability to curb her thoughts and bend her emotions, ultimately having control over her actions and whims. It had been traumatic. And Buffy was still dealing with the consequences of what all that meant. Was it still considered rape if her mind tricked her into wanting it? Even if she didn't believe the words that were coming out of her mouth? Therapy helped. Slaying as many vampires as possible took the edge off, too. But if we're being honest, Buffy rarely felt safe in the company of anyone anymore. Except maybe her sister. So the fact that Buffy was suddenly considering letting Sebastian walk away unscathed made her feel anxious. "You know what? Fuck it." She said, standing abruptly, small beads of moisture beginning to pimple along her forehead as he heartbeat raced in her chest. Inside, she felt like she was loosing control. He was winning. It was happening again. "Do whatever the fuck you want." A thin, shaky hand grabbed at the glass on the table and she sloppily chugged what was left of her beer. A hand rose to wipe away the remnants of her drink as she stormed toward the door, her glare never once rising to eye the vampire in front of her again. |
