The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Her touch is enough to set me on fire, enough to cause me to combust, die a true death but I wouldn't regret a moment of it. I would never regret having known this touch. And the pleasurable torment continues as her fingers don't stop at my arm, slowly traveling up as if she seeks to know just how far this will go. My gaze grows bold and dark beneath charcoal lashes as I look at her, wishing once more that I could know what was going on behind those beautiful blue eyes. As her hands move magic beneath my shirt, air hisses through my teeth and now it's all too noticable what she's doing to me. My muscles harden, veins rippling to life even though the blood running through them is no more my own than the breath I no longer need to take. Of course her brow furrows at my words. She's never liked how protective I can be, how fierce I am about keeping her safe. I swear the woman would rather I care about no one other than myself when it comes to survival. There was a time when that was true. There was a time when it was just me and Stefan and yes, I would do anything for my brother but survival is engrained into me and I've survived situations I never thought I would live through. But Isolt is my new way of life and I don't want to change anything about it. I would do anything for her, including dying a true death and I would never regret it. She is my everything. Her finger comes to my lip and her single word makes my lips tug into a teasing smirk. The light darkens in my eyes as she leans into me and I can breathe more of her in. I could suffocate on her sweet scent and never grow tired of it. She brushes her lips across my fingers and my brows furrow, wondering where this is going, not that I'm complaining. When she lifts up, I bring my lips to meet hers halfway, only too eager to meet her in this regard. There's no better way to describe it; it felt like coming home. The taste, the feel, the sensation filling my body...there's nothing else like it. Before I know it, I am backing her up to the desk that used to be mine. My fists come down on the shiny wood surface as I press her back against the front of it, my lips hungry for more as one hand sweeps everything off the desk in one clean move. My body is taut as a rubber band and I pull back just enough to rest my forehead against her own, my breathing harsh and ragged even though we both know I don't need the oxygen. My eyes open just enough to look into her own, to let her have the next move or ask permission to continue. |
