East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

if you've got nothing to dance about find a reason to sing

Innocent was a perfect word for Gianni. While no one would guess, the festival was a first for her. She had never seen so much life and happiness in one place as all her years had been filled with silence and death. The noises buzzed in her ears, from the children laughing, to parents talking, to the rides and even the vendors selling cotton candy; she heard it all. Every moment of it made her want to engage, to go see investigate every corner of the fair, but she restrained herself, forcing herself to simply observe.

As she looks to the vampire next to her she takes a moment to observe him, all the while avoiding eye contact. She had never met another of her species outside the manor, nor had she met another of any species. It was a different feeling for the vampire as she tried to determine if she should trust him. Then he smirks and a smile lit up her face as he asked her which prize and nodded towards the booths. The way he spoke wasn't very modern, yet it wasn't too old, though she knew many people did not ask questions in the way he did.

The Italian bit her lip as her blue orbs glanced around to each of the booth, each one holding prizes of all sorts. Then her eyes rested on a small, pink stuffed rabbit. She cocked her head, observing it from afar, as it reminded her of the one she had when she was a little girl. She pointed with her gloved finger, eyes still on the rabbit, "I like that one," She said, half to herself, half to the man. She then shook her head, pulling her thoughts out of the past and onto the present.

What he says makes her think and she shifts nervously, anxiously. Of course she would be more than willing to engage in the activities, but watching to her was the most exciting thing she had done in years. The happiness of others seemed to roll off of them and make its way to her, in turn putting a smile on her face. "I've never been to one of these," She admits, her Italian accent present. She looks up at him, half questioningly, wondering if he was new to the town such as she was. While she wants to ask she doesn't just yet.

The vampire then introduces himself, bowing and holding out his hand. She knew the gesture all too well, as she had seen her master do it with many women before. Gianni, on the other hand, had never had the honor of being on the receiving end of the gesture. She was a slave, meant to bow to others to show respect. It made her wonder if he was of royalty, or money, or if he was simply old fashioned. It took her a long second of looking at his hand before she gently placed her hand on top. It felt odd, but who was to say that tonight she couldn't be the one to have her hand kissed, after all he didn't know her past.

"I'm Gianni, a pleasure to meet you," She dipped her head to him out of respect, wanting to stand up and curtsey but holding herself back. Tonight, she decided she wasn't going to be herself. Instead her rebellious side was shining through as she stood up off the bench. "If watching is only half the fun, why don't you show me the rest?" She asked, raising a brow and twirling the end of her dress as she gave him a daring look. She was pushing her boundaries, and to the woman, it was more than just fun. She began to wonder just what trouble they could get into.
