East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Despite all the open air that had been theirs within the sky, Samantha couldn't have felt more claustrophobic. The memories of her family seeming to overwhelm her from all sides and crush the queen. How she hated to think of them. She avoided the thoughts at all cost, and one night with him had it all pressing down on her. She was grateful, of course, for the way he didn't protest or argue as she requested that they land. How she hated to be such a downer, and yet she needed to get her feet on solid ground to refocus herself. It was only once she felt that sand between her toes once more did her breathing slowly begin to settle. The Fae Queen paid little attention to the way he shrugged, instead she settled herself into that sand and let the cool grains run through her fingers. In fact, she barely paid any attention to her companion at all until she spoke and he responded in turn. The girl scoffed, though his words were enough to pull a smile to her features. "I don't know that I'm a natural. You should see how many times I burn myself when I'm on the Ark." Once again, she nodded in the direction of the ship that loomed in the distance. Still, she appreciated the compliment all the same. She wasn't a natural. Not yet. And yet she became better at what she was with every passing day.

Samantha was determined that neither of them would spend any more time this evening dwelling on things that hurt, and it was that alone that had her pushing herself up to her feet and bolting straight into the waves. The water was freezing and the girl let out a loud shriek at the temperature, but still she pressed herself on. It would do her no good to chicken out now - though she could only hear the way he would tease her if she did. No, she continued to press on - or at least she tried to until the wave knocked her off her feet and fully drenched the poor girl. She forced herself back to her feet as she taunted the other man. It was only seconds then before he was at her side, moving to splash her with water. "Troy!" She squealed, sounding much more like a human girl than the regal fae queen she was meant to be. But ah, you couldn't be royal all the time, right? She held her arms up, laughing as she tried to shield herself from the freezing water. She waited just a moment before she jumped out and found purchase on his back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, trying desperately to pull him under the water as well.

Well, a little play never hurt anyone, right?
