The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The Ripper
William Jack Holloway
It seemed as though there was nothing about the women that could have enticed Dorian's gaze upon them, or at least William thought so until the attention turned to their species. For William, it was almost like breathing to pick up the variety of species that inhabited the establishment. There remained a strong faerie presence in the building, though that was certainly not the only thing that would be present here. No, there was a whole table of vampires against the back wall. Several hunters littered the stools at the bar. A group of young Weres seemed interested up near the front. It seemed that this place might have been the sort of safe haven for all species that existed so infrequently, and perhaps that was why Will enjoyed it so very much. He could relax here. He could let himself be the man he wanted to be rather than the Hunter that existed in lieu of his human form. Still, despite the safe haven abilities this building seemed to offer, William couldn't deny himself to point out the fae girls that were dressed for their pleasure. It was that, it seemed, that caught Dorian's attention. William watched him study the girls, the man simply content to observe for a change. It was only when Dorian spoke once more did William chuckle.
"No, you are certainly not most Fae," He agreed. He drummed his fingers against the table as he listened to Dorian assure him that he would not keep them within his court. With that, William's lip quirked up into that familiar smirk. "Are you sure? Sometimes, from my experience, the scandals can be quite enjoyable. Besides, I bet they'd make excellent lovers. Look at the way they move." It was true that the man was more than capable of appreciating the forms of the girls. The way that they were capable of moving their limbs in a way that was both seductive and graceful. It was pleasing to watch for both men, even if Dorian was trying his best to avert his gaze. He may have been a proper King, but some things were simply instinctual to their gender.
His ability to coax Dorian's gaze further to appreciate the women seemed to be cut off by the arrival of their drinks. It had, in fact, been a naive notion that Dorian might so be able to drink as William himself had learned to do. Modern alcohol was distinctly different from what he had experienced in the streets of London, and even further so from what Dorian would have experienced in his Italian courts. Still, William made no effort to warn him other than that afterthought to advise him to take it slow. No, his attention was rather on the girls that walked by, waiting for his companion perhaps to recognize one of the girls as the roommate he was so interested in. It was in genuine curiosity that did he inquire as to what the woman's name was - after all, if she worked here it would be easy to ask one of the other women to flag her down, would it not?
The subtle shift in conversation towards himself made the man almost awkward. It was obvious he was English, of course. The accent and the title of Duke gave that away almost effortlessly. But still, William was ever wary of giving too much of his own story away - a century of being on the run would certainly do that to you. But he fully intended on staying in Sacrosanct for a long time - at least as long as Sebastian was here and wanted to keep him around. There was no reason to lie to him, however. And it was with that alone that he found himself answering with that brief and rather vague explanation. Dorian himself seemed interested in his tale at least, and William only nodded in response to his words before inquiring as to what the infamous Italian King was doing here in Sacrosanct.
"My kind," He sighed as Dorian spoke, reaching up to run a hand absently through his dark locks. How was that not surprising. There was nothing about Hunters that William found pleasing. "I am sorry to hear that. Though I am relieved that Samantha found you and helped you out. And as for having someone," He grinned over at the man. "I completely understand that feeling." After all, he had Sebastian and that was enough to keep him within the boundaries of Sacrosanct. William turned to flag down a waitress. "Two more drinks, please. And if you know a Samantha that works here, please have her come to our table. My companion has something he needs to ask of her." He grinned at the woman, despite the almost sour look on her face as he mentioned Samantha's name. He turned to his companion once more, laughing slightly. "Oh, someone doesn't like your roommate."
It was the mention of the Council that had William's playful expression fading from his features. "No," He said firmly as he shook his head. The very mention of working for the Council made him squirm. No, he would never work for them. Ever. "No, I'm afraid they want me dead as much as they want you dead. Or rather, they want me to make me kill people for them. Tragic that's not going to happen, isn't it?"
But darling -- it's only human nature.
