East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

There was a certain sort of sincerity to those eyes, ones that the young woman found herself getting lost in as he took her hands within his, commenting on her beauty. That simple sentence so saw her cheeks flush with heat, turning an nearly obvious shade of pink and yet, she found herself unable to say anything other than those two softly spoken words of thanks. In truth, that simple compliment entirely flustered her, the girl unable to offer the man any word at all in response as she took her hand, once again making an effort to steer her back towards the festival that had so captivated her within the first place. She was acutely aware of how utterly uncomfortable she had made him, that fashion at which he stared straight ahead spoke volumes enough to her, filling the demure girl with decided guilt. She had just been trying to help, even if she had done so all wrong. A soft breath left her lips and yet, she refused to let her own feelings show. It would have been decidedly inappropriate, she knew. Instead, the girl simply listened as the man at her side spoke of his past and his own complicated relationship with that need for blood. His admittance of his age caused a weak simper to cross her features and yet, Chizue found herself a bit hesitant on what to say, simply listening as he assured her that a rabbit alone was enough to satisfy him.

Her own chocolate eyes turned bashfully to the ground beneath them, her voice decidedly soft as she offered a hint of apology, "I'm sorry for assuming." She muttered softly. After all, there were those like her whom were on the periphery of the norm, and even further still, most vampires preferred to hunt in their own fashion rather than have their prey forced upon them in the fashion she had. How utterly foolish the girl had been! The girl fell silent then, increasingly shy from her own embarrassment as the man led her back towards the food stalls with their assault of scents. They smelled delicious, even she couldn't deny that. Her head bobbed as he offered to buy her one, hardly intending to deny him, much less strike out on her own again. "Thank you." The girl muttered softly as she took the offered dumpling, her fingers slowly digging at the dumpling before she nibbled on the delectable kabab. "They are!" The girl answered in return, providing the man at her side yet another small simper.

Chizue was entirely content to focus her attention wholly upon that food she had been provided, at least until the man at her side continued, inquiring of her that very thing she often tried to hide from others of her species. The girl bit into her bottom lip in a subtle display of uncertainty, her fingers toying with her food far more than actually indulging in it as she had been earlier. "Umm...." She uttered softly, considering her words with particular care. "I....I suppose I'm....a bit different too." Chizue continued after a moment's hesitation. "I'm a psychic vampire. I guess, emotional vampire is a bit more...correct. I can see emotions like colors that I can eat...but then their emotions affect mine and sometimes their personalities do too." Her voice trailed off, entirely unsure how he might feel of her own particular oddity. After all, not everyone was so accepting of her affinity and her ability to tell those emotions with such ease. It unnerved them more often than not though, truly, Chizue could hardly fault them at all.
