Arching a brow in surprise, Mi is surprised to see the sudden shift in the weather as it begins to rain. Not a light spring rain, a torrential downpour. Setting her mug on the table, she almost gapes at it; she wouldn't be walking home anytime soon, she didn't even bring an umbrella with her today! At least it wasn't snowing. Nodding grimly to herself, she looks down at her mug, enjoying the caramel color of coffee and she's inspecting it so intently, she hardly notices the man that is now standing at her table. When he speaks, Mi flinches in surprise, spilling a bit of coffee on her hand, wincing at the scalding heat of it before looking up.
Brows raised in surprise, she nods dumbly before gesturing with a hand to the other side of the booth. "Sure," she says simply before reaching for a napkin and dabbing up the small mess she had made. Inspecting her hand quickly, she's surprised to see a red blotch mark on her pale skin, she would have to run it under cold water when she got home. Returning her gaze to the stranger, she shifts a bit uncomfortably in his presence as she finishes wiping up the coffee, "Um, I'm Miyako," she says softly, extending a hand to shake his.
"I was surprised to see it start raining like that," she states turning to look out the window, cringing at the coldness that was sure to meet her on her way home. There's a sudden commotion by the door that draws Miyako's attention, her whole body twisting towards the door. People were running in from the street, standing in the doorway, completely drenched, some laughing, some grumbling in annoyance. Miyako's brows raise in amusement as she watches them a bit longer before returning her attention to the man, "I'm glad I got here when I did," she laughs quietly, her laughter akin to music as she lifts her mug to her lips, taking a sip, enjoying the warmth that coated her insides.
Humming in delight, she sets the mug down, listening to the chaos unfold as people asked to sit with strangers. She was rather thankful she only had to share her booth with one other person, it being far too small to accommodate more than two people. "What are you reading?" she asks politely, her head tilted slightly in genuine interest. If she were being honest, she hardly had time to keep up on news, especially news regarding Sacrosanct. Perhaps it was best she didn't, there were far too many deaths in this city. If she had done her research prior to moving, perhaps she never would have moved her.
Still, she regards him with pleasantness, cupping the mug in her hands as her chocolate eyes watch him curiously.
