The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
Sad eyes, mouth full of white lies Chizue was far too stressed about interrupting Blake's reading as the man was hardly invested in the book, it was simply something to do. Despite the appearances, Blake was not a man interested in mastering knowledge or to collect all of it for the sake of having it. No, he operated on a much simpler method â€" he needed something to do. He needed something to keep his hands busy, his mind from drifting aimlessly in boredom. Sometimes that meant he was under the hood of an old car, trying to restore it; sometimes that meant he was elbow deep in the plumbing of his own home, trying to redo his shower; sometimes he was in the kitchen, staring as flames licked the bottom of his microwave because he didn't follow the directions like he should have when cooking that one time. Basically, his life motto fell under that saying "Jack of all trades, master of none" (though he would like to add: "oftentimes better than a master of one"). In case you're wondering, yes, he did drive his teachers crazy when he was in school. One thing he was sorely lacking on, in case it wasn't entirely apparent yet, culture awareness. Not to say he was culture insensitive, he simply was not well-versed in different cultures or their religions. Hence his random reference to something he only vaguely knew through friends talking about the game recently. Little Chizue had no reason to apologize, she wasn't interrupting anything important. Blake would always prefer the company of a person over the company of a book, no matter how critically acclaimed or magnificent another might claim the book was. No, to him it was simply a well-written piece of paper but the stories were repeats, often similar veins of fantasy and truth woven by a someone that usually had far too great a love for a thesaurus. He much preferred the stories told by a person; they were usually far more interesting and raw, colorful flavor added with the unique experiences of the individual's perspective. So, apologize to Blake for giving him the opportunity to abandon a simple distraction? He wouldn't hear it! Thankfully, he was quick to talk. "Oh geez, call me Blake. Jonathan makes it sound like I'm trouble," He lightly corrected her, rubbing the back of his neck as recalled his mother often screaming his full name as he fled his mischief. He had never liked his first name, though it might have something to do with his brothers all possessing "J"-names as well. How she never mixed their names up was still a miracle, if you asked Blake. "Well, absolutely fantastic now that you're here." He winked with a broad grin, shuffling forward in his seat slightly to better direct attention onto her. Oh, watch out, Chizue. He's apparently unable to control how cheesy he is. "You live right across the street and haven't visited? Oh man, I probably would have moved in here if I lived close by. I love coffee shops. I mostly love to bug the people in them. Probably would suffer a caffeine overdose, but hey, better than just constant alcohol." He rambled on, fingertips drumming on the edge of the cup. "But people tend to not mind being bothered by strangers so much at a bar." He added absently before shrugging, shifting his gaze from the bookshelves back to his new companion. "What did you get?" He suddenly asked, leaning over to get a glance in her cup. for: character // word count: ## // notes notes notes |
