East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Sebastian Ellingtonfor pleasure seldom has a cure

Sebastian was a wholly capable vampire. He was surely able to tear out throats and rip apart rib cages. Those sharpened fangs and affinities he held within his grasp could have brought whole towns to their knees if not for one simple problem. The vampire so often tended to simply deny himself. He knew what he was, what he was capable of, and yet he simply found he cared far too much to indulge in that reckless barbarism quite like she had so eagerly embraced that savagery. Sebastian was the very personification of his upbringing. He was civil and polite, a member of England's entry and a product of that Victorian Era of civility. He regretted those lives he took in his youth, before he'd found any sort of grasp upon that hunger and since then, the vampire had done everything within his capability to keep his hands clean. Even now, as he stared at the blood that marred the cement that soaked through those red ribbons, he found himself near filled with self loathing, even as her voice called out to him. His own English accented words were far weaker in response then he liked. Pain was not becoming for the vampire.

Those quickly darkening eyes were cast upwards at the sound of her heels moving against the cement towards him and yet, he hardly anticipated that delicately begging tone to her voice as she so desperately requested he stayed still. He offered her a warm simper, "I'll be okay, love." He uttered softly in an effort to reassure her, even if Sebastian himself was near hesitant to pull that piece of wood from his chest. One wrong move, one tug the wrong way and it could nick that very vulnerable muscle that so kept him alive. Not to mention that utter need to eat, to heal the damage that had been inflicted upon him. His eyebrows stitched together as another wave of pain left his lips with each breath he took. Talking was certainly not particularly comfortable at the given moment. A soft grunt left his lips as he leaned against that brick wall beside him, entirely relying upon it to keep him upright before he gathered his strength to see this ploy through. After all, Sebastian had near forced her to his side for the benefit of his own survival. Though the threat had been dealt with, he still needed to free himself of that stake and, as much as it pained him to consider, he needed to set her free and find his way back to the comfort of his own home - all before the sun rose. It was daunting, all that laid before him when he found himself wanting to do little else beyond simply rest against the exterior of that building.

He was aware, vaguely, of the sound of heels on that asphalt and the absence of her presence at his side. Sebastian might have been oblivious of the feelings he had beset her with but that scent of freshly spilled blood could never truly be ignored, nor the screams of pain that accompanied it. His nose raised ever so slightly and yet, in truth, that distinctly metallic scent was entirely poignant as it drenched the ground around them. He knew they needed to move soon, in a city filled with their kind, a bloodbath like this did not remain unperturbed for long. There were always those vultures willing to lick up the remains of any left behind. He hardly expected the way in which that betwixing young woman reappeared at his side, much less the muscle that she so delicately cupped within her hands, so offering him that delicate morsel of the heart with such selflessness. Sebastian's navy gaze glanced upward at her with a hint of inquisitiveness as she so cooed softly at him, her voice holding a hint of something else - something he knew well. Had she been hurt?

He hardly had a moment to inquire, however, before the woman grabbed his hand, placing that softly thudding heart into his palm. His other hand delicately rose to cup it as he brought the heart upwards towards his mouth. How long had it been since he'd actually eaten a mortal? Could he even remember what this tasted like?! He hesitated before those lips parted and his teeth bit hungrily into that muscle, his mouth immediately flooded with that blood he so desperately needed. The presence of that blood nearly made everything fall into the background for the vampire, the man almost oblivious of the words she uttered ever so softly into his ear, much less the finger that trailed blood down his cheek. Usually, Sebastian was the epitome of a clean eater, that blood never staining his clothes or flesh and yet, tonight he was anything but. That button down shirt had already been flooded with his own blood, his cheek now stained from the tail of her fingers and the area around his mouth beset that same hue as he so feasted upon that heart, altogether aware of his body's attempts to mend what had been broken within him, ready to set right the damage of that stake once it was finally removed from his back.

Despite that ravenous hunger, and despite the mess that had so come with consuming the heart that had once been within his fingertips, there was some measure of meticulous care that had gone into its consumption. Sebastian was inclined to eat every morsel of it until naught but that right ventricle remained, the vampire wholly aware of that blood that still filled the inside of that piece he held within his hand and yet, it was near instincts alone that so suggested she might too have needs -- needs that he felt inclined to tend to regardless of his present state of being. After all, that benevolence was a part of who he was. Delicately, he picked up that last piece within his fingertips, those strikingly bright blue eyes met her own as he held up that last part to her lips, his intentions to so gift it to her decidedly clear in that moment, even if the man hardly spoke a single word. That need to see her well fed was perhaps as strong in him as that desire for his wellbeing was within her. After all, those crimson threads were hardly single sided. Even though he knew it was his own doing, Sebastian couldn't help the simple acceptance that he loved her.
