The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm a little disappointed that I had to use compulsion so early on in our encounter but really, what did she expect? I can't believe something I did would bring the girl to fear me. It's not like I even flashed my fangs at her or anything. Oh well, what can you expect from humans? Even as she starts backing away from me with apprehension obvious in her eyes, I catch her gaze and hold on, talking in that soothing voice that always does the trick. I can tell it's working from the minute the apprehension leaves her gaze and she starts looking calmer, more like a girl talking to a friend and less like a deer looking for escape. Oh yes, I'd seen her gaze sweeping the crowd, looking for an escape. She's not that slick. The moment my compulsion kicks in, she smiles and nods along in agreement, the hotdog idea suddenly not so bad anymore. As she runs her fingers through her hair, I smirk and hold my arm out. "After you." I let her lead the way out of the crowd, sticking to her heels like glue. I'm not so willing to let my prizes out of sight so easily. My senses are hyper aware, sure that Ive not seen the last of that damn hunter. If he catches a whiff of me from now on, it'll be like white on rice. Of course, he'll need to do something about that broken wrist before he can hope to use a stake. My bad. Once we're free of the crowd, I get into step with the redhead, stopping when she does to tilt my head as she offers up her name. I glance down at the offered hand, raising a brow before I extend my own hand and turn my hand up so I can lean down and brush my lips against the back of her palm. "Charmed. I'm Damon." I offer without pause. What would it hurt to give my real name? I can always tell her not to talk about me once we leave here....but then, what would that accomplish? Maybe she has cute friends. I doubt she's in the know with any hunters in the area so I don't think it will hurt anything. Glancing over her shoulder toward the booths, I glance back at her. "So what'll it be? Hotdog or hamburger?" |
