The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Amor was a broken man, Harlequin was all too aware. The emotions, the turmoil that was hand in hand with the flood of question â€" the inquiry, it mentioned it all. She could only wonder how she could have fallen for such a monster. And why it was that the Beast held with white knuckles, her heart when he did not even have one of his own. But if she sought answers, Amor had none â€" he was but a stranger to himself. There was only pieces of shattered humanity, of what he could have been. These shards like glass to the most tender of fingers, painful to the touch and precarious to maneuver.
The man killed her parents, stripped her of all innocence and caged her like an animal. His sister wanted her dead and nearly killed him in the process. Not to mention the little detail of Adrian, who Amor had yet to even think of yet. Her only sibling was his worst enemy and sought to have him dead, perhaps even to this day. Was she really angry that he left? How, out of everything, was this the one thing that caused a rage he had never seen before? Or was this because of what she experienced in his absence?
It was obvious that Ryker didn't have it like Amor did.
Harlequin had fallen for this captor, this Romanian man that now had her tucked tightly against the damp brick wall. His fangs snag her porcelain skin in tiny folds as he closes his mouth, leaving a red and raised trail in tow. Having pricked it, he kisses the wound where blood beads before licking his lips and tasting sweet familiarity. He hums in a sick satisfaction; this rush that consumes him was far beyond the blood, beyond what it felt to corrupt this little girl. This was entertaining fate and what it may have in store for them, or more so for Harlequin. He wanted to see what she could become with his help.
There was no denying that he was twisted, that he did enjoy her completely dependent upon him. But of course, he saw beyond that now. He could create something lethal out of her. Tame her and have that power exchanged, respectfully so. To know Amor is to know that there was nothing romantic about him. But there had always been an allure that a lot of women could not resist. They came to his clubs, found him and sought his attention; only to be manipulated into working for him, under his complete and utter control. Funniest thing about it was that he never slept with any of them, not even the one's he trained...
Perhaps he was a bit too much for her these days.
10 years down a dark road without her, she may be too frightened to find him.
He chuckles at her words, at her petite form trembling against him. Yet again taunting every aspect of darkness and predator alike within him, all he wanted to was kiss her. There was an inkling of curiosity; if she would deny him or not. His nose brushes her ear, his breath crawls down her neck. Amor would not turn her unless she wanted it; his words and gestures but in mockery. He excited in what she had become, he wanted to embrace her in her decision. Harlequin had entertained the thought for years, it would be a matter of time before she would succumb to it. She still had fear but she had long since learned to face them â€" eventually.
Pulling away, he does not even make eye contact before kissing her fiercely.
No matter her reaction, he had to taste her lips again.
