East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

fading into oblivion

for the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey
her speech is smoother than oil
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood
sharp as a two-edged sword
her feet go down to death
her steps follow the path to Sheol

- PROVERBS 5:3-5;;
Serafina was hardly oblivious to the inquisitive, hungry looks that crossed the features of their dinner companions. However, she was more then willing to all together ignore them. They meant nothing to her. She had come here for one reason only. Okay, that was kind of a lie - the food was only an after thought. The death, and the man that had brought her were by far her primary interests and frankly she cared little for the wolves that accompanied him. For whatever reason, she was hardly concerned of getting out of the entanglement alive. It hadn't crossed her mind that they might take an interest in her - that they might see her as a loose end. She played her part as she had long ago been taught, her observant gaze fell upon the so called lions, noting with the smallest hint of approval that one simple well spoken sentence was enough to dissipate them, momentarily anyways. Her gaze shifted from the throng around her, pulled to the inquisitive African fellow at her side if only because of the sheer weight of his gaze. Her eyebrow rose ever so slightly as she watched him for a brief moment, ignoring the chit chat and orders placed.

Eventually, however, her gaze was forced elsewhere if only by the slightest of stiffening in her companion. It must be him then, the one they had come to kill and briefly her attention slid towards him. Her grey tinged gaze intently watched the fellow as if she was Azrael herself, judging the worthiness of his soul. If he noticed at all she'd do her part to offer him a warm simper, letting the facade and the game continue. Her attention was drawn from the man if only by the sensation of Davane's arm nestled upon the back of her chair, causing Serafina to lean back comfortably within the chair she sat. Her gaze shifted half heartedly towards the menu though she had no real interest in the selection offered. Choices of wine and beverages were hardly her forte, especially not when her head already felt fuzzy enough from the lack of blood running through her system. Food was what she needed, what she craved and that was certainly not on the menu that the waitress shoved within Davante's face. What Serafina did notice, however, was the fashion at which the woman's gaze lingered. Hm - it looked as if she wasn't the only one interested within the enigmatic man - not that the witch could really blame her for it.

Her interest politely shifted towards the men at the table, listening vaguely to how highly one of the party members spoke of her companion. It was intriguing to say the least, the things that Serafina was learning about her companion by just listening to those that he surrounded himself with. She learned he was African. She learned he spoke Arabic (really, who knew?). She generally chose to stay silent, letting them talk amongst themselves and listening when something intrigued her, that was until his fingertips reached forward, brushing her arm and sliding up towards her shoulder. Her head tilted to the side ever so slightly, her grey tinged gaze refocusing on the man beside her. She leaned towards him ever so slightly, repositioning her slender feminine figure. "I'd certainly hope so." She responded with the smallest hint of a teasing tone to her feminine lips. Sadly, she hardly got a chance to enjoy the closeness between them before the waitress interrupted with classes of wine. A soft sigh was exhaled from her mouth and briefly Serafina wrapped her fingertips around the dainty stem, raising the glass to the air in a toast she certainly didn't believe in at all.
