East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

He could feel himself frown as she spoke. Her words almost...placating. Like when a parent spoke to a really bad child. He knew that voice. He'd been a pretty bad child. He'd heard it a thousand times. She'd didn't believe him in the slightest she was just pretending. Going along with the crazy so he didn't get crazier. Hell, he almost wished he was crazy it would be better than actually being a vampire. Maybe. The man near wordlessly handing her that pepper and salt then. He'd never had anyone not believe him before, let alone someone who required actual proof other then, well, looking at him. In more than his thirty years of life he'd never had someone praise the work of his dental implants either. Arlo momentarily at a loss for how to get the woman's attentions at all as she sat there just....stirring stew......like nothing had happened. Because stew was suddenly important and she was ignoring the lunatic she thought she lived with. God she was going to start prescribing him things soon for his hallucinations or some other nonsense. Arlo's hand reached up pinching at the bridge of his nose as his own sigh fell from him, his gaze glancing across that kitchen with the very intention of potentially lifting up that fridge just to prove his point. She probably still wouldn't believe him though. She'd just think he was, well, really strong or something. He needed something...undeniable.

His gaze settled on that knife he'd only been using moments ago, Arlo reaching for it then in a moment of contemplation. Well- he could prove a point with it. Hell he could stab himself through the stomach with it and push it out the other side and he'd still be 'alive' â€" that seemed a little extreme though really. He didn't want the girl to faint or something. A simple wound would do the trick right? Something a doctor would understand. Something a doctor couldn't deny. Her name uttered then to draw her attention to him before Arlo simply proceeded to slice his own palm open. Alright. Maybe this hadn't been the best idea he'd ever had. That actually hurt. A lot. That blood welling to the surface now to run in a steady flowing stream across his hands and fingers as Mi shrieked. The woman lunging for him in the same moment, sending that dinner pot flying and forcing Arlo himself to step back and out of the way of that stew that splashed against the woman's legs. Christ. The words on his lips however quickly seemed to die away as Mi seemed to find a level of hysteria he hadn't exactly anticipated. Arlo quick to throw that knife away to prevent her getting a hold of it just in case. The woman demanding to know what on earth was wrong with him as he fixed her with a near dubious look.

"Frankly, you're the one who told me I was crazy even if you didn't say the word crazy before. I'm not though- thank you for asking. Although this wasn't actually my best idea I'll admit that, I just need you to look so you can-. Mi! Mi!"

She wasn't listening to him at all, she didn't even seem to notice she'd burned her own leg or thrown her dinner all over the floor, the woman insistent on his need for medical attention, Arlo reaching out with his uninjured hand to grasp her wrist and hold her still. The man near forcing her to look now despite her protests. His hand thrust in front of her to let her see that blood simply....stop flowing and clot within seconds, his very skin beginning to stich itself back together in front of her eyes before neatly healing over. That gaping wound having healed to a thin, pink line within seconds- even that beginning to fade now to match the rest of his pale skin tone. One good feed sure to repair any further damage. Arlo glancing up at last to see the disbelief on her face before she all but crumbles to the floor- taking him down with her. The vampire allowing himself to kneel on that floor while carefully avoiding that stew. One eye arching upward then at her assurance she was drugged.

"Mi, I didn't dru-"

Her hand reached out, clutching his wrist then as if she needed something real to cling to, the woman looking positively pale. Something that was kinda hard to do when being compared to a vampire and yet she'd almost managed to match his skin tone. Great. He'd broken her now. Now she was spinning out of control and floating off to Mi land or whatever the hell it was she was doing. Her voice almost accusing then as he frowned once more, wiping the blood from his now healed hand onto his jeans.

"I didn't do anything to you. Seriously, Babe. You're giving me way too much credit. Drugging you and then slicing my hand up would have taken at least some pre-planning and I have never planned anything in my life. I have trouble even sticking to a bus schedule so I sure as hell didn't plan this. Besides, anything you ate or drank here tonight you bought or made yourself. I haven't touched anything. I don't really drug girls I mean it's kinda....frowned on....by society- at large."

He paused then, offering the woman several more moments to recover and at least try understand what she was being told. Whether or not she'd actually accepted he was a vampire remained to be seen. Arlo not entirely sure he was bold enough to mention it again just yet. She was alright wasn't she? Right? His gaze dropping to her leg then.

"Here, let me help with your leg I think you kinda burned it there, babe. Ummmm...."

He paused once more, glancing around that room before rising to his feet and crossing to that fridge, Arlo fumbling around in the freezer for that bag of frozen....something that had been in there since he moved in. Well- he just wouldn't tell her that. Arlo nearly back on the floor again to press that bag to her leg. This, it seemed, the limit of his medical training in any sense.

"You...er....you good now? I'm running out of things to do to prove the vampire thing to you unless you want to see me run or lift something heavy or, I dunno, I can make these electrical web things kinda like spider man. Not all vampires do that though that's just me. Do you need some water or something?"
