He knew she was aware of him. He could feel it within her mind. That sense of dread bubbling within her as if contemplating just what he wanted and why. Frost hardly choosing to alleviate that concern. The man merely content to enjoy those feelings of disdain he seemed to bring her before he allowed those cool, frosted lyrics to part his lips and allow her to ignore him no longer. The slender young woman pivoting neatly upon her feet to face him then. Frost afforded that true view of her in turn. She was a pretty thing, truly, even if his mind was rarely given to consider such things in others. His violet eyes, hidden somewhere beneath that strange white hair finding her own in that moment as she seemed to take in his own appearance for the first time, that comment merely seeing the side of his lip twitch ever so slightly as if some part of him was vaguely amused with the words she offered. His shoulders lifted in a gesture almost apathetic. Frost near as infamous for his decidedly lacking emotions as he was for those other acts the residents of this city seemed to deem near criminal. As if he was some sort of plague upon them. How charming.
"So it would appear."
He offered simply. He was near used to those looks of surprise he was given when most saw his human figure. His human frame was slender, light and hardly tall for a man in any sense. Frost only a few inches taller than Mira herself. A far cry from that towering near-seventeen hands high war horse in all its muscle and glory and power. Most people often unable to believe that this was the same creature and yet, for all his small size, the man remained near entirely capable off commanding any space he occupied all the same. His gaze continuing to rest upon Mira unwaveringly now as if merely studying her all the while with little to give away any true upon he held on just what he thought of the woman before him in any sense. She was older then he had anticipated. Older then himself- of that he was sure and yet his youth tended to surprise others near as much as the rest of his appearance. The man entirely used to being underestimated in near every sense- it hardly bothered him anymore. Why should it? Had he not already proven his point in this city? Mira continuing to eye him with her own striking gaze. The woman maintain a wildness of sorts about her, even in that human guise. How intriguing she was. How unfortunate she had thrown her lot in with that West side pack.
Those words that left him then were deliberate, goading, designed entirely to prompt some reaction from within her and he is hardly disappointed. Her words holding their own distinct amount of spark- though perhaps fire was a better word for her. How much he enjoyed those women with something to prove, with that energy about them. How different they were from those women he had known in his own early life, so submissive and meek. It was almost refreshing really. That query as to whether he wanted a gold star for his effort in buying her more time was uttered in a near mischievous tone, one the man was content to rise too before his imitation of her seemed to strike her. The woman promptly declaring that whatever she sounded like it was surely superior to whinnying. How unfortunate it was no one ever seemed to take horses seriously, the animals so often written off as a 'girly' creature in every sense. As if they could nut crush a skull beneath their foot alone. Frost allowing that simper to find his lips now. That almost dry chuckle rising within his throat.
"The horses whinny is akin to the whine of the wolf- I would think. Such a fierce sound that is."
There was a tease somewhere within those words. Frost rising effortlessly to her own goading. The man, in truth, enjoying that banter in some fashion. The equine appreciating that spark of intelligence within her all the same. Frost considering once more how very wasted she surely was within Tetradore's pack and yet he had long since lost interest in pilfering anything else from the Panther. His own attentions turned to other matters of late. His attention upon Mira merely curiosity, at least for now. The woman's grip seeming to tighten upon her coffee in those moments that followed before she queried the shop's lack of sugar cubes, Frost pausing to eye the Inner Sanctum once more before returning his gaze to Mira alone.
"I know where the owner keeps the supply if I desire more."
That, in the least, was entirely true. Alexander, more than once, having attempted to prevent the stallion pilfering that sugar supply- with marginal success. That response almost dry once more before the request to talk seemed to offset the young woman once more. How clever she was to realise she had little choice in the matter all the same, Frost gesturing lightly with his hand for her to go ahead. The man stepping effortlessly to her side in the same motion, his hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket as he did. That white hair falling back over his eyes. Mira allowing that silence to exist for barely a moment before assuring him he would make a killing at kids parties if only he were nicer. That amusement seeming to find his features again.
"I have been told I have a poor temperament. For both a horse and a man. More than once- if you can believe it."
One eye rose ever so slightly, that thin vein of humour tainting those words once again as he regarded her. Frost allowing those few moments to pass before those words parted his lips once more in that same even, cool tone that seemed to dictate near all his lyrics.
"As it is however, I hardly came to discuss my temperament. I told Negan you were dead. In fact- I showed him your very body. He believed me- though why would he not?"
He paused once more, allowing those words to sink into her own mind and contemplate the very level of freedom that provided her. A lie told and bought. It would hardly protect her forever. Negan would discover that ruse eventually and surely come for them both and yet the little weasel of a man posed little threat to Frost himself. The stallion hardly concerned. Rather, he had near effortlessly afforded Mira a rather extensive period of freedom. How generous a being he was.
"Temperature control is hardly my only affinity."
That, it seemed, was all the explanation he cared to afford on just how he had so successfully convinced her tormentor she was dead. Frost seeing little need to go into any detail of the vast array of powers he was capable of commanding. His gaze dropping to Mira's own once more, her body warmer than most. He could feel it- he could see it. Hmmm. Total mastery of her newfound affinity still seemed to elude her. Had he truly suspected any different? How powerful she could be, would be, once she learned how best to handle that heat. If only she was not so inclined to Tetradore he might almost have been willing to teach her something, after all, who better to pass on some of those skills for dealing with temperature then Frost himself? For a price of course. The world had nothing for free and yet for now such thoughts remained his own.
"So, how's life in the Panther Parade Pack? Burned anything down yet?"
