East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The Macedonian King was hardly oblivious to those delicate olfactory that his steed held. Though the man wore that human skin, there were traits that seemed to transcend that shift, such as the man's preference for sweet treats his equine form too delighted in. He suspected well that Frost could tell there had been another soul seated across from him and yet, he saw no reason to inform his steed of the French Fae's existence within his life. At least, not yet. Rather, those blue-green eyes remained steadfast upon the man as he waited for that explanation of Frost's presence that he knew would be coming. After all, Matteo had warned him well enough that his evening was hardly going to spent within the warm comfort of that cafe, Frost was quite clearly that harbinger the fae had illuded to. His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly at that information he was provided of that query he had been seeking for nearly a year. Though Alexander's devotion to finding Xerxes had been rather limited of late, with his own personal affairs pulling at his attention, now that the man was practically within his own backyard, he had every intention of taking advantage of that opportunity he was given. Tonight, he would settle that age old grudge.

That goading comment of the rain was all but ignored as Alexander rose from his seat, the Dark Hunter instead saw fit to query after those far more important details of the reconnaissance that Frost had quite clearly done. He carefully considered each and every fact his companion offered him as he made his way up towards that flat, clearly intending to fetch those shoes and some sort of jacket to offer him some sort of comfort in the rain beyond. That very mention of those immortals coaxed a clear glimpse of discontent upon his lips. It was such a haughty name, those Persians gave their ranks and yet, Alexander had torn them asunder before and had every intention of doing so again. That simple presence of those horses, however, caused that pensive consideration to once again cross his features whilst he climbed those stairs to his own personal loft. The closeness of those creatures made this decidedly...difficult and yet, it was truly curious that the hunters had bothered hitching the horses at all. Were they not weres too? They were not beasts who ran at the smallest of sounds. Surely their mortal minds were capable of more analytical thought? Perhaps he should consider it a blessing and yet, he still puzzled over it all the same.

He was unaware, in those moments of internal contemplation, of the way Frost's gaze skirted over that personal space that was his flat. Rather, his fingers toyed with those clothes in his closet till he pulled a duster from the depths, that worn leather provided that ability to move that he desired while also ensuring the man didn't get soaked to the bone in the rainfall he would certainly be spending some time within. He plucked a pair of boots from that wardrobe, inquiring over his shoulder of that land they might be fighting upon, clearly seeking some sort of advantage in that upcoming skirmish he fully intended to initiate. His fingers moved deftly with those laces, his forehead crinkled as he considered all of that information that Frost provided him. Xerxes had placed himself well, of that, there was no doubt and yet, even if those conditions were not ideal, it would hardly be enough to save the Persian tonight. Although Alexander was well known for those tactics that were deemed reckless and nearly impossible to succeed, tonight, he would not win on that same merit - not with this affinity for teleportation, one he remembered well from their last encounter.

That plan was already beginning to formulate within his thoughts as he considered that upcoming battle from every conceivable angle and every possible outcome. That strategy was slowly beginning to solidify only for Frost's voice to one again pierce through his thoughts. "Hm?" He questioned, his gaze skirting towards the Icelandic man before those words finally registered. His head shook ever so slightly before he stood, entirely assured of himself. "We need to keep the weight on you as light as possible. You would do well to remember I fought on horseback long before your modern saddle even existed. I will not give Xerxes even the smallest advantage that he does not already have." He was firm in this, the man hardly having any doubt in his abilities as far as that equine kind were concerned. Horses were something he understood well, something he had always understood well. They were on of the few creatures that could coax a measure of compassion from him when the rest of the world failed to. Tonight, he was trusting in Frost and yet, he needed his steed to do just as well.

"We'll skirt through the forest. The woods around here are filled with wildlife, we'll use that to our advantage to throw off the horses and offset the noise you make. It won't give them a reason to panic until it's too late and if they retreat, perhaps giving them open ground will let them feel....safe enough to run rather than rely on Darius' ability. I am hoping their horses will give out faster than you but we'll need to take Darius out first." He was assured his considerations were sound, after all, that open ground he was quite nearly pushing them onto would provide him with the ability to not only see but also destroy the party at large rather than to allow them to get lost in the underbrush. He merely had to rely on the hope of finding the sort of wildlife he required to make that plan work and yet, with the hours ride that would be required of them, he was assured they could herd together a rather nice group of deer. "I hope you aren't opposed to getting dirty." He stated in after a moment's thought, after all, smelling of the forest was just as important as that herd he intended to send the horses' way. It was an easy manner to hide in plain sight, in a way. Still, it was with shoes and jacket and a rough sort of plan that Alexander gestured his companion back towards those stairs, his thoughts too focused upon that vengeance that lay just out of reach to truly consider that small shred of concern that Frost had shown him. After all, victory tonight was as desired by the horse as it was him, he hardly saw a reason, presently, to consider it as anything more than that.
