The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The friendly guy right next to her seemed lost in thought for a minute. She scowled impatiently, wanting to wave her hand in front of his face to remind him there were other people here waiting on a response but she held back. Finally he turned his gaze to her after what felt like forever, telling her that he could only hurt her if he bit her. Her lips twitched instinctively at the thought. She scowled. "Good cause I bet I can bite harder." She took another sip of her drink, giving the grinning fellow a small smirk that said "try me." Then the guy beside her was explaining to her about swinging that way. He used a word she'd never heard before. She tilted her head. "Homosexual, what's that?" She blinked, hoping she wasn't coming off as too much of an idiot. Only genuine curiosity glistened in her brown eyes. Then the man talked to the shady guy on his other side, telling him he didn't seem amused. Was he supposed to? Her brows furrowed in question. Meanwhile the guy with the sunglasses was getting harder to read with every passing second. He had already been quiet far longer than he had since the beginning of this whole conversation. What, he was just going to throw himself into a conversation then just tune himself out? That seemed rude. He kept saying all these things she didn't understand and he needed to explain himself. What was his problem? When she asked if he was trying to get her to mate with him, he only grinned which she could only assume meant that yes, that was what he was doing. Her ego did a little leap. She would have to tell Henry that she had gotten her first invitation to go home with someone. Maybe she wasn't so unattractive to other human men, after all. She was beginning to wonder. He didn't say anything though until he stood up, patting the accented man on the shoulder like they were old friends or something, telling him it had been fun and to have fun with..this one? Was he talking about her? She scowled at him. "My name's Malia, not This One." She said sarcastically. She watched him walk out before turning back to the guy beside her. "So what's your name?" Maybe she would make another friend today, after all. |
