East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ludo was excited with how involved Miya seemed within their conversations. Especially about food, which was of high importance in the young Italian man's life. He couldn't help but admire her whenever she burst out in a slight giggle, or how young wrinkles gathered in crow's feet by her beautiful eyes every time she smiled widely. She seemed to be highly amused on the subject of Ludo's old dinner parties with his family. "Yes," he spoke warmly, "They were always quite the boisterous bunch of people. I used to live at my parents with my three brothers and sister. We had quite the small family, statistically, but what we didn't have in numbers, we made up for in loudness," he laughed with fondness in his tone.

He saw Miya grow crestfallen at the mention of her family as she tells him that her mom passed from cancer a few years ago. "Oh, Miya, I'm terribly sorry," he said with a great pause, "What was your mother like? If she was anything like you I'm sure she was a great lady," he smiled at her. Listening to her stories and the reasoning becoming a doctor he wondered if she ever had anyone to express her feelings like this to. "Well, I'm sure she'd be proud of what you are doing now," he stated, immediately transitioning topics when the waitress waltzed back to their table. After Ludo had asked the waitress there was an immediate growl of a stomach that pierced through the room. He glanced over at Miya, who's face was as red as a beet and he head tucked slightly into his enormous jacket out of embarrassment.

Softly snickering, he listens to her order the same beef stew dish he had. Slightly raising one eyebrow in curiosity, he studies Miya drink the beer at ease a little bit more each time she sipped. Not long he finds her saying she's "up to the challenge" and takes two more huge glugs of the beer and shortly after she revealed a smug grin that swept across her small face. Taken off guard, Ludo scoffs with amusement muddled amidst astonishment in his expression. He listens to her chatter on with her job and living in the city. "This definitely is a change of pace from what I'm used to," Ludo added. "How can there be a great populace living almost shoulder to shoulder with one another but still be so isolated?" He looked down, wondering what the city truly had to offer.

Surprised suddenly by Miya motioning to the waitress and ordering two more beers. As they conversed more he spoke about working for his father. The talk is cut short when Miya shoves the empty beer glass in Ludo's face and tipsily celebrates how she finished the drink. "Wow, either she's just loud when she drinks, or she's never been this inebriated before" Ludo thought to himself. He resurfaced from his thoughts when he heard her speak about animal attacks. "Animal attacks? What do you mean?" he questioned Miya's nonchalant statement. Before he could get a coherent response from Miya the poutines had taken over the interest at the table. He admittedly was starving but not as hungry as the lady in front of him who he watched swiftly grab her utensil and gathered as much of the dish on her fork as possible at a time. He was impressed with the woman's appetite. Her eyes widened as she experienced her first bite of poutine. "Excellent, isn't it?" he exclaimed in a grin. Throughout their devouring of the appetizer, he watches her take continuous drinks of the beer, each time her face getting more and more flushed.

Ludo thought if he should take her home in the state she was in but, would she even be coherent by the end of this meal? She had offered to finish his drink as well. "Uh, I'll get to it. I think I'll save it for my main course though," he winked at her. "Seems you're a huge fan of IPA's now," he commented eyeing the second empty glass in front of the buzzed woman whose locks of jet black hair were carelessly falling in all directions. "Was she wanting to go home with someone tonight?" Ludo thought. "Nah, she doesn't seem like that kind of lady but," he couldn't help but wonder if she let herself be this carefree in front of other men.

Luckily, the main course arrived, and a home cooked aroma filled the pub with hints of rosemary and thyme wafting into the air. "Mmm," Ludo couldn't help but vocalized his excitement for the dish. "This looks very good," he looked at Miya and back down at the bowl of stew in front of him. He carefully took his first bite, admiring the sauce the chef made. It was a lovely beef stew. He always enjoyed discovering hole-in-the-wall sort of places where you wouldn't expect an exciting meal at. Before they knew it, both of them had devoured their stew, bellies full and happy. "Did you want to stay longer, or should I grab the check?" he asked looking at Miya who was in bliss from meal she just ate.
