The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

As Vhalla stands on that porch shivering, her hands jammed into those coat pockets, she bangs relentlessly on that door waiting for Ellie to open it. When the girl finally lets her in, the assassin is quick to complain that it was cold, grunting as she moves into the living room. She doesn't miss the way Ellie watches her amused, the next words falling from her lips only causing the assassin to glance at Elain with narrowed eyes, sniffing in disdain, "It would have ruined the look if I wore a warmer jacket," she says, entirely pleased with her fully black outfit, that hair of hers stark against the clothing. Pausing, her eyes flash at the woman again, a brow arching at the nickname Ellie dropped. She almost wants to deny it, to tell her no, but thinks better of it. The woman kind of liking it, instead, she flashes her a smile and simply accepts the compliment. "You do too, I can see Laz doesn't have you on lockdown, I'm pretty certain he wouldn't let you out of the house wearing that," she laughs before whipping that fake ID out and presenting it dramatically to Ellie.
"Never doubt me," Vhalla says simply, an amused expression entering her features as she suggests they go. Ellie's next comment has the witch furrowing her brows, a frown tugging at the corner of her lip before she sighs, "Fine, I'll have you back by midnight but only because I don't want you to have to deal with your prick of a brother. But if we're late and he beats us back, I'll handle him," Vhalla shrugs, grimacing at the thought of having to see him again. Though, Vhalla did feel a little guilty she hadn't spent much time with Elain, having been far too busy with Ivan and... Lazarus. Their last encounter something she wasn't entirely sure what to think of. She has to force the memories away, lest that blush creep up her skin. She wasn't sure if she were a terrible friend that she had drunkenly slept with Ellie's brother and didn't tell her.
She didn't want to deal with this, at least not now.
As they exit the townhouse, Elain slips her arm into Vhalla's, appreciating the extra warmth from the girl as the stroll down the sidewalk, Vhalla complaining once more about the cold. Ellie is quick to pipe in which only causes the assassin to turn a flower on her, "Still, I'm not made for the cold," she mumbles, even her fire couldn't stave off the chill that seeped into her bones. It hardly takes them lot to reach their destination, Vhalla dragging Elain through those doors before flashing their IDs. The assassin is immensely pleased by the way her friend's eyes go round as she scrambles to take everything in. Her next words bring a grin to Vhalla's lips, "That's why I brought you here, you needed to have some fun and that's never going to happen when you live with your asshole brother," Vhalla says slyly leading them up to the bar and snagging two chairs.
Quickly ordering two drinks, she sits down, her eyes traveling to Elain as she asks her what she thinks. "Well yeah, not all jars are trashy and dirty, there's some classier ones out there," Vhalla laughs as their drinks are placed in front of them. The assassin is quick to reach for hers, sipping on it generously as she pushes that fruity drink into Elian's hands. Though, it was true, Vhalla hardly ever toured the nicer bars, she tended to find herself at the underground bars, the ones that littered the west side of the city. Shrugging, it was something Ellie didn't need to know. Turning in her seat, she glances out at the crowd, comfortably settling herself in the chair when Elain suddenly questions the assassin mid sip.
Spluttering, she has to set the glass down as she coughs to rid the liquid from her wind pipe, her mind whirring quickly. Did Elain know? Did Lazarus tell her? Turning those blue eyes on Elain in surprise, she's unable to stop the sudden blush that tinges her cheeks, barely visible in the strobe lights flashing off the walls. Snapping her mouth shut, she turns to that counter again, grabbing her drink and downing the rest of the liquid, waving a hand for another one. "I might have ran into him again," she mutters just loud enough for Elain to hear. "As for kicking his ass... no, I haven't lately," they had done other things, that involved the bedroom.
