The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Miya can't help but shoot those daggers at the man, her chocolate eyes heated in the aftermath of the encounter. She was furious. Mostly because her emotions were so entirely frayed, there was no normalcy within her life anymore. How she wished she could return to those first few weeks within the city where she was blissfully ignorant to the supernatural world around her. It was as if everyone she had met within the city was some creature or another, the woman hardly wanting to make friends with anyone she met, lest they turn out to be some sort of animal or blood sucking monster, which she had the pleasure of meeting already. Her feelings regarding vampires were that of mixed reviews, having been attacked not terribly long ago within an alley, only to be saved by an awfully strange man, and living with a vampire who didn't actually eat humans, or at least that was what he claimed.
Miya can feel that headache beginning to form at her temples, the stress from the last few days finally catching up to her. God, she just wanted to... runaway. To leave this city behind. Still, she doesn't quite succumb to her feelings of self pity as she throws that severe glare at the man, her brows drawn down in a frown as she meets his gaze. Perhaps, under other circumstances, she would have immediately backed down, perhaps would have even blushed beneath that look he gave her. Yet, the demure and shy girl that she was, was long gone, at least for the moment as she folds her arms over her chest, drumming those fingers impatiently against her arm as she listens to his response, his deep tenors snaking along her skin. She's convinced for the briefest of moments that he would simply leave her here, to deal with these raging emotions alone, something she would altogether be pleased with.
When she bites out her next set of words, she can see the man pause before her, only to turn and face her completely, that hand reaching up to scratch at his chin. She vaguely notes the tattoos that so line his fingers, though she's entirely too distracted by her anger to let her gaze linger on his hands for long. His next sentence actually has Miya's mouth opening slightly, her cheeks flushing a bright red as impossibly more anger flashes through those simmering chocolate eyes. "How-how dare you!" She stumbles over her words in that sudden wrath that finds her. "I did not put myself in any sort of situation!" She grounds out grumpily, her fingers digging into each of her arms in the momentary outburst, hardly registering the intensity of his gaze in that moment.
Truly, it was a sight to see; a petite woman angrily scolding a man that was quite nearly double, perhaps, triple her size in every aspect and yet, that filter seemed to have been thrown into the wind. If anything, this man would have been entirely more threatening than the entire group of students that had been shuffling in the alley earlier. Still, Miya can't seem to stifle that anger in her. Finally, she unfolds her hands to rub at her temples, that headache seemingly to find its way behind her eyes, pounding relentlessly. Closing those simmering eyes for the briefest of moments, she misses the way the man turns his gaze from her, her eyes only peeling open when deep tenors reach her ears again. Dropping her hands to her side, she glares at him, pointing a finger out in his direction, "I don't know who you think you are, but I think that you're just a-a sexist jerk!" She shouts at him, taking several steps forward only to catch her foot clumsily on the ground as she's pitched forward straight into the solid man.
A small noise of surprise emits form the back of her throat as she grasps for purchase on his corded muscle, barely catching herself from falling to the ground. As her fingers dig into his arms, that anger has suddenly vanished in the wake of her clumsiness, her head tilting back to look up at the man. This time, when the color coats her cheeks, its more from embarrassment than anything as the realization sets in at just how very large he was. Frozen in the moment, she stares up at him, her chocolate eyes wide, "Um... I uh...," her speech is hard to come by now, her hands still firmly planted on his arms.
