East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It is perhaps a testament to her sheltered upbringing that sees those soft green eyes lift to his own with some careful hint of surprise, his abrupt comment earning him a momentary frown upon her feminine façade as she seem to attempt to decipher whether or not this was some form of mockery. She knew, to a certain extent that she hadn't exactly 'lived' not to the extent so many of her peers seemed to determine one should 'live' and yet certain things had never truly held her interest. Clubs, bars, drinking, drugs.....these things never truly held a place within her existence. It wasn't that she hadn't tried to join in on the club atmosphere, more so she continued to find it simply didn't appeal. Besides, who had time for things as frivolous as parties when there was study to be done? It was perhaps a little sad, she supposed, that the longest relationship she had ever had was with her Anatomy textbook. Then again she supposed she never knew what to say to a man regardless, much less what to do when they began to dance around her and shake all manner of things that need not be shaken. Even the thought of such a thing caused her cheeks to flush slightly in embarrassment. It wasn't the crowds she minded so much as the constant touching by strangers, so many young men seeming to believe that a group provided anonymity, that they could attempt to brush against her without her knowing. She was hardly adverse to touch, more so, she simply preferred to know the person before they engaged in such things.

Her shoulders moved to role in a shrug of sorts. She believed she knew what those men wanted and yet at the same time, having never actually allowed one of them to try she could hardly say with certainty. A lack of any real experiment in that regard assured she found she had no actual concrete evidence to support anything.

"I was raised in an apartment actually. My parents were just protective, although neither of them were Morman's."

She chuckled softly at the implication, another sweet smile tracing her lips.

"I have some idea why they do it, though I never have stayed long enough to find out, the club scene isn't really my thing."

Maybe she had just never had anyone to go with. She hardly lacked friends, in fact, she found she made friends easily and yet while she enjoyed a quiet coffee or a shopping trip, shoes after all, are every woman's weakness- she found this was were her interests ended. Chasing boys, clubbing, excessively tight skirts and questionably road safe vehicles never did entice her. School was more important anyway, good grades meant a good job and a secure future- one that did not involve taking over her Fathers company, much to his eternal chagrin and continued attempts to prompt her Mother into trying for another child in the hopes that one might desire to run it after him. The company he never even wanted. Any and all thoughts of clubs however, were forgotten in the moments she reached to touch his hand, nerves fluttering within her, still holding some fear he might grab her and bite her. That his hand was hardly cold however, seemed to shock her momentarily into a state of confidence, scientific curiosity overruling natural instinct in that moment as she very near lent forward to better examine his palm, fingers tracing along it, revelling in that warmth. If his hand was warm...was the rest of him warm? If he was, for all intensive purposes, dead, then did this warmth indicate a running circulatory system? Is that why vampires fed on blood- to run their systems? Would the blood eventually cool and make him cold again? Did he ever have to use the bathroom and really, for that matter, if he was dead...essentially and yet he still seemed to possess blood flow....could vampires reproduce? She frowned slightly once more, so entirely overcome with this curiosity and need to know that she had failed to notice his staring, much less the fact she was still clinging to his hand- hastily pulling away a moment later, mildly annoyed at herself for getting so distracted within the presence of what was essentially a predator. She was being silly- she had been stupid, he shouldn't really have been here at all and it would probably be better, she thinks, for her safety and for all the butterflies in her stomach if they put an end to this evening now.

"Well...I appreciate it, I do and what you did for me back on the street, so thank you- for all of it. Although you should blink a little more when you stare you look very.....predatory when you don't- just saying."

She managed another smile once more as she moved to pull back in her chair and stand, gesturing once more to the piles of textbooks and papers that lay strewn (albeit neatly) upon the other side of the table.

"I need to get back to my study now, but I hope the rest of your night isn't quite so....eventful. Here, I'll show you to the door."

She liked to imagine he would simply go out to do as any human would and yet the truth of the matter, that he may very well head off to eat someone still set her nerves upon edge, despite her new found fascination with his species. At least however, whomever he was going to eat- wasn't her. She shifted slightly, waiting for him to follow, turning her head ever so slightly to at least keep him in her peripherals, pleased to see he still maintained his distance without stepping within her personal....space bubble. Had he been a human boy she may very well have had some sort of hope of seeing him again, that he may very well still desire to nibble on her however assures some sense of reason manages to permeate her thoughts. It would probably be better, she decided, if she never did see him again, having touched his hand by far the most thrilling moment of her young life and by far the most dangerous and yet she cannot help but feel at least mildly disappointed at the thought she might never run into him again- even if only to ask the rest of her questions.

"Goodnight, Damon."
