Too wild for you

She knew she couldn't understand what he was going through, even if she wanted to. She just knew he was giving himself more than enough punishment for what he'd done. She shook her head at his statement about deserving punishment. "You've punished yourself enough, Henry. It's time to start the healing. You're only punishing both of you now and that's not fair." She knew how stubborn he could be and she hated arguing with him. She didn't want to get into another heated fight so if it came down to it, shed just agree to disagree but she really did hope he would at least think about what she said.
She knew he could probably eat more but she wasn't going to push him. Reliving what he'd done had affected him so she'd let it go. He seemed to feel bad for even telling her about what he did, saying he didn't want others to drown with him. She scowled in disagreement. "If you'd just quit being so damn stubborn and put on a life vest, no one would have to drown. But that's all I'm saying on it. You're stubborn and you wont be told anything. You have to convince yourself. I love you Henry. You're my best friend. I just want you to be happy." She smiled softly, hoping that by adding that, it would soften the blow of her cursing cause she really didn't want to fight with him, not again.
She didn't know who all knew his story but it didn't matter. She still felt special that he'd chosen to tell her. She watched him put his food in the box the waiter had brought over, her mouth already salivating at the thought of more food. But then he said something about Sterling being better off with someone else and she scowled. "You dont know that and its not just your decision. It's Sterling's too." As he handed the box of food to her, he looked up and brought up what they'd done in the hotel. She had almost expected him never to bring it up again. Her brow raised in surprise but her expression softened as he admitted that he couldnt do it with Sterling because of the scars. "You have to move past what you've done. It's the only way."
She stood up when Henry did, following him out onto the sidewalk before he paused and turned to her. She heard him out before sighing and putting her hand gently on his shoulder. "Just remember that if you give up, there's no do-overs. No going back. We only get one life. Before you make that final choice, make sure its the right one." She decided that was the best answer for him instead of constantly pushing him to try again. If he wanted to drop what he felt for Sterling, then fine. No one else could tell him differently. But she hoped he put a lot of thought into it before he made that final decision.
