East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He had never been one to judge a book by its cover or judge a species by one individual. He didn't go out of his way to meet witches and warlocks but if they all looked like Sorcha, maybe he would have made more of an effort. He didn't really think about the aspect of good and evil. There was always a gray area. Sometimes you had to do a little evil to do some real good in the world. Sacrifice the one for the many, that sort of thing. He already didn't stand for most of his own species. Not many vampires could walk in the sunlight. He raised his brow when he noticed Sorcha scowling. "Penny for your thoughts?" He wondered how many times he'd have to say that just to get a clue as to what was going on in that pretty little head of hers. She slipped her cat some food and he could only smirk before turning his attention back to his book in case Adele looked his way.

Adele smiled sweetly at Sorcha's compliment. "Oh, you're too sweet, honey. But I promise you I'm no saint. Especially behind closed doors." She giggled like a school girl, her eyes lit up with mischief even as Erik raised a brow, cleared his throat and dutifully looked at his book, anywhere but at Adele in that moment. She was certainly more alive with Sorcha in the house. More spunky too. He asked her truthfully if he looked unhappy and she answered no but she didn't seem that happy about it. He watched a moment more, trying to read her expression but when she gave him nothing more, he finally looked back at his book with a soft "hmm." He did at least manage to catch her off guard when he leaned in close. He knew how to make someone uncomfortable and in this moment, he wanted to see those beautiful cheeks flush red. He smirked the minute it happened.

Adele was suspiciously quiet the whole time but he knew enough that if she didn't silently approve, she would have said something in Sorcha's defense by now. He had an inkling she was wanting something to happen anyway so she was concentrating really hard on eating her food like there was nothing else going on. Uh huh. He read what looked like confusion on Sorcha's features. Did she not know how gorgeous she was? He raised a brow at her nervous laughter before she said she wouldn't be convinced unless he changed the oil in a car. His lip twitched. "Don't need to, don't have a car. But I'm sure I can think of other ways to convince you." His voice dropped low and dangerous, his eyes watching her intently now, wanting to see her squirm. When she looked at Adele, Adele only concentrated more on her food, not daring to look at them. Erik chuckled, knowing she'd be more than happy for him to find someone to hold his attention. She was always chiding him about finding a nice girl.

He didn't know she owned anything so he tilted his head in question when she said she used to own one. He thought for a minute before it dawned on him. The run down shop where he found her. His eyes widened for a second before his expression softened in sympathy. "You can again, you know. Start something new. I know a few sponsers." He was talking about himself of course but she didn't need to know that. She confirmed his suspicions in the next sentence, telling him it was the shop and that she made potions. He raised a brow, genuine curiosity in his gaze. "Is that what you truly love doing? Making potions?" He wanted to know. He noted that she looked disappointed when he admitted to not having that many connections here. He wished he could help her more but he would definitely help her all he could.

She did seem to agree with him though about socializing, saying there were problems with meeting others. He shrugged. "Such a glass half empty kind of way to look at things. Not everybody brings problems, you know." He said softly. She told him she would go out in the morning and that she knew he couldn't come and he tilted his head, eying her with amusement. "Who says?" He liked that she was trying to reassure him though, telling him it would be quick like she knew he would worry if he wasn't there. He wasn't about to leave her alone after how he found her though. He smirked. "We can stay out as long as you need to."
